At first, sorry for my rough English grammars, and sentences. I want to recommend this sentai series who loves conflict emotion between many characters on tokusatsu film. Those tensions makes characters alive, and makes motivation to move characters follow the story line. Enemys on this sentai are not just 'Evil space alien'. Those villians were friends of Liveman. They were also just a genius humans but they just throw out their humanity to be diffrent genius species. But those villains sometime regrets their decisions, because they still have humanity inside of thier heart. Liveman keep persuade to their friends (also villians) to back to human. Enemys are just resist to accept their conciliate everytime, but they keep worry about them 'What going on to me' or 'Should I have to not do this?' We can see all those features on modern sentai series, (persuade evil one to being a good one) but mainly Sixth rangers, or Villian who gonna be killed by Evil emperor for betray. But Liveman is diffrent. Actually, one of villian change their mind to be evil and try to return to normal life! So rest of villians try to kill him and Liveman try to protect their old friend. Those tensions goes up to finale of the show and has quiet good ending. Since I love those 'Serious Sentai' of old series, It is quiet recommendable Choju Sentai Liveman who loves seriousness and conflict between characters. Any guys saw this show?

It was on my "to-watch" list, but I'm currently a little burned out on Super Sentai and am going back to watching more Kamen Rider. I still plan to get around to it eventually.

The Gokaiger tribute was one of the more interesting ones. It's on my list of shows to watch, that's for sure... but it's a long list.

I love Liveman and it used to be in my Top 10 favorite shows, but now it is more like 12 or 13.

One of the best 80's sentai. A show that plays seriously most of the times, but not spared of goofy moments. I found very funny that or "heroes" with ideals of "progress" and "peace" spent their studies to develop war machines, lazers, bulletproof suit, etc.
- Hey guys, what about helping mankind exploring space and stuff ? - Yeah, let's build a damn heavily armed giant robot ! What kind of academy was that ? School for promising mad scientists wannabe ? Great villains make good shows, and it works in this one. Plus, one is portrayed by Yutaka Hirose. The strong point of this serie. The ending is a bit...unexpected. There's an episode that introduce a time travel plot that made Bias really angry without explanation, but it's not used in the final episodes. I was really expecting this plot to pop up and induce a time loop about Pr.Bias. |
