Ah HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I can't even!
I'm dead! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ....was my reaction yesterday when I saw this news. I'm sure in CG it'll look balls. But as an action figure? Yeah that's not cool. Effie Trinket's gonna really have to play that one up to make it something impressive other than Pizza the Hut's older brother.

I'm assuming in CG it'll have a constant melting effect, with the gold flowing from head to toe.

While the design might make sense with what they are planning for the movie, can't say that I'm crazy about the figure, which, having only one single colour, comes across as cheap.

I'd have to follow along behind him collecting all the drippings and getting crazy rich. Sure, I might get stepped on by a giant robot, but what's life if you don't take chances?

Will reserve judgment until we see the CGI renders, toys like these are an awful way to judge the design fully either way beyond the general look (like using those giant non-transforming Transformers to judge the designs). I kinda like it conceptually, but just gotta see where they are going with it. Would rather have Goldar have been his own character rather than a corrupted Megazord, if that is the route they are going with. That said, I do like the idea of a fallen ranger (Rita) having her own Megazord. But I worry that will make whatever they do with Tommy in the sequel feel..rehashy.

ok, here is my take...
I was going into this with an open mind...if I wanted the old stuff, I could always watch the old stuff. I DID want something new. First trailer, I was good. Rita, Very good (for some of the wrong reasons, not going to lie). Some of the plot ideas made me happy. The posters made me smile. Then I saw the Zords...the doubt started (Still say if they just switched the "Mastadon/Spider and Tiger it would be good")...Then I saw Alpha, and it got bad...now I see this. Revamping a show concept ISN'T bad...but just bad design, that's well...bad design. |

Just saw the trailer for the toys today, is it me or goldar's body kinda resembles the megazord abit? Maybe he made himself look like the megazord?
