Takeru/Red Mask actor Ryosuke Kaizu has a connection regarding ramen noodles. Half a year prior to leading the super sentai team of light as Takeru/Red Mask in Hikari Sentai Maskman, he had a guest role on episode 27 of Choshinsei Flashman as Ryu, a pro boxer who aspires to be a champ while working a paper route and a ramen stand who befriends Dai/Green Flash. Many years later, Mr. Kaizu currently owns a ramen restaurant in Japan.

The surnames of the Lupinrangers and Patrangers each refer to either darkness or light further solidifying the dichotomy between the two teams.
<LUPINRANGER> The "YA" in Lupin Red/Kairi's surname Yano means "night". The "YOI" in Lupin Blue/Touma's surname Yoimachi can also mean night but mostly is used to describe "evening". Lupin Yellow/Umika's surname Hayami translates to "an easy-to-see chart/diagram" relating to astrology. However, rewrite it in hiragana and you can see the Japanese word for darkness, "YAMI" is incorporated in the surname thus completing the night-themed naming scheme. <PATRANGER> The "ASA" in Patran 1/Keiichiro's surname Asaka means "morning". The "Hi" in Patran 2/Sakuya's surname Hikawa alone primarily means "sun" or "positive". It is the same word for the chinese word yang in the concept of yin and yang, and alternatively is read as 'yo' when used in words such as 'taiyo' which is the Japanese word for the sun. The "MYO" in Patran 3/Tsukasa's surname Myojin means "bright".

Picked up some fun little trivia regards to Lupin VS Pat.
- Kazusa Okuyama who plays Tsukasa Myojin/Patran 3 on the show revealed on the tokusatsu radio show Kamen Radiranger, hosted by Ryutaros voice actor Kenichi Suzumura and Sho Ronpo/Ryu Commander voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya, that her father is a retired police officer. She also shared that after seeing a scene where Tsukasa is eating anpan and drinking milk during a stakeout, her father texted later "when I was on stakeouts I ate sausages".

Here is one that is from the metal heroes:
- It is most likely the reason Winspector did not follow the typical good guy defeats bad guy formula and was set as a special rescue team is because there was a serial killing in Saitama at the time and anime and toku were the subject of criticism regarding fictional violence. - If there was criticism, why wasn't Sentai as affected? Winspector would've been around '89 roughly, which was about the same time as Turboranger. - Rescue Heroes would only last about three shows. Did the criticism start to waver a bit for them to return to the older format? Did the decline in Rescue Heroes factor into that decision? - Given that the rescue theme was an answer to real-life events, was Toei marginally shocked at the popular response to Winspector? |

Begs a few questions:

Did the decline in Rescue Heroes factor into that decision? - Given that the rescue theme was an answer to real-life events, was Toei marginally shocked at the popular response to Winspector? As for the rescue police wavering last I checked it seems it was just the decline of interest at the time Exceedraft aired. I guess people were tired of the same old. Solbrain probably gets a pass because it is in a way somewhat of a sequel to Winspector narrative-wise whereas Exceedraft had less of a connection with the first two shows. As for Winspector being popular, probably because they seemingly were more popular than Fiveman that year. Giga streamer roleplay toy was also a popular item that year too from what I gathered. There is also that the metal hero department had less to work with since they blew most of their budget on Jiban the previous year so them managing to make what they did was quite the feat.
