imo you shouldn't look at the scores, but rather the actual reviews. One negative one in particular criticized the lack of Muslim, Jews and queer people and said that you should let your kids watch Suicide Squad or Ant-Man instead

I know, but I never like the critics with the snoby opinions thinking if Movie A is the same then Movie B should be like that as well.

Yup. there are good reviews and bad reviews like there is with everything people do. A review saying a movie is bad is not automatically on the same level as another review that gives a low score.

See, this is why I never get the hate for critics, because the most anyone can muster as far as an arguement against them is "Don't listen to them, think for yourselves!" yet I only ever hear that in response to negative criticism. If the critics were all loving this movie you'd be praising them and using it as evidence that the film is great... because at least one fan did when the first reviews came out positive, and said the film was actually good because those first reviews were positive. Double standards, much? Quote:
After all, this movie opens with someone jerking off a bull and mistaking it's cum for milk. Yes. This about covers what I was afraid of with the movie: Quote:
In fact, from the symphonic music that plays over the opening credits to the film’s glacially-paced origin story and the city-destroying robot fight with which it culminates, “Power Rangers” owes far more to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the “Twilight” generation, and Michael Bay’s “Transformers” movies than it does its own source material. If not for a handful of scattered call-backs and an amusingly incongruous performance from Elizabeth Banks (who plays the evil Rita Repulsa with such go-for-broke glee that it feels like she’s fulfilling a Make-A-Wish request for a dying fanbase), it would seem as though this movie were embarrassed of its origins.

There's a distinct difference between SAYING you think for yourself and actually doing it.
Usually the ones doing the latter don't need to do the former. |

I'd take critics over your overly defensive, juvenile behaviour any day. Holy shit.

Hence why it's been practically all you've talked about so far. Also, reading through more reviews, because I literally ahve nothing to better to do since I ended up not workign today, the one review's mention of Ant Man and Suicide Squad is directly in reference to the safe, pandering nature of the movie. His point is not that they're better movies, but that why would kids seek out the genericized, inoffensive Power Rangers movie when there's more distinct movies that at least have some kind of identity. (granted I hate Suicide Squad, but his point wasn't really about that movie specifically so sub in whatever not-shit Superhero movie of your choice) Honestly, this movie just sounds more and more like the worst aspects of the Transformers movies all mashed together and cranked up to eleven. |

Generally I do to. But someone said they were tired of people demonizing critics. I gave my reason why I did. And you had to go on the defensive about my opinion.
