even thought is is for adults, it does push the adult rating so far and be quite disturbing and creepy like seinen manga. i mean it's not that crazy violent and without the nudity and horror it probably be like bleach level. anyone agree?

The level of violence does get oversold, yes. It really isn't any more graphic than early Heisei Rider.
Actually, a lot of Garo's reputation is oversold. If you listen to some people you'd think the show is a constant parade of gothic horror, gore, and boobies. |

Although horror was a big part of the first season, it's basically completely dropped for the second season. And although episodes like the Hell Mermaid one are my all time favourites, I think the second season is better for it for focusing on fantasy more than horror.
Still, I do think some things are pretty gratuitous like Messiah who served basically no purpose beyond having Kouga fight a sixty foot tall naked porn star whose novelty was entirely lost, when more meaningful villains were dropped for close ups of her tits.

Messiah was the mother of the Horrors, so she had a purpose.
I still think S1 is the best as it had a perfect balance of stand alone episodes and plot episodes. And some of those stand alone episodes, such as the butterflies with the people in the warehouse, the clown, the gameshow dude, were excellent. I also loved the episode with the father of the bartender wanting to get revenge for Kouga killing his daughter. |

I think the second season is a true sequel, improving on every weakness the original season had. I will admit I much preferred season ones standalone episodes, but that is because I'm a horror nut and the second seasons standalone episodes were just sort of special effectsfests. I had a long list of problems with the original season of GARO, despite enjoying it immensely while the second season, really my only criticism of that is Red Mask, who is ridiculous, but I'm only half way through and I still know barely a thing about him, so that could change.

She had a purpose in universe, but no purpose to the audience. Things need to be built up and established, not just turn up in the last episode, that is my point.
