Yeah, so far? This show is... Better than Samurai... But...
Honestly? It is falling a wee bit short. I just got done watching RPM, and honestly? That was a great show, but... I find myself comparing it to Megaforce. Honestly? It doesn't hold up at all. The editing is choppy and lackluster, which is almost a nod to MMPR, but even MMPR did it right... I hope this show gets better, because we are only three episodes in... But... The first episode sucked me in, the next two just plain sucked. ;( 2/10 |

I personally loved this episode. Absolutely loved it. Jake is stealing the show, and the fact that his crush on Gia seems to be a theme that continues just makes me laugh (in good ways). Troy's ADR was still kind of "eh", but it got better towards the end of the episode. At least he's delivering "IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!" with a little more punch.
Jake and Noah. They're going to go down as a great team like Dillon and Ziggy. I love those two and their interactions. 5/5 This is what Samurai should have been but failed. I can forgive some of the little things for sake of translation (Japanese cards, etc.) Also, was it just me or was there a lot of original footage for this episode shot?

Oh I would have no qualms for this episode if not for the footage misstep in the monster becoming big. Anybody have a good "retcon" in fixing that discrepancy?

But, some of us? Are allowed to have negative opinions of it.

You're more than allowed to have negative opinions of it. But you said MMPR did it better. And no, no they didn't.

This has been my favorite episode so far. The first episode just seemed like a bunch of fan service and toy promos, while the second was a little too typical in terms of plot and stuff. Going Viral just seemed to have a lot more originality to it.
In the first couple episodes, the characters just seemed super shallow and cliché. You had the nerd, the jock, the pretty girl, etc. But despite a cast of characters that I was sure would be dull as heck, they managed to build a really great episode around Jake and Noah. I was impressed by that. Also, I know that since Power Rangers is more of a kids show than Super Sentai, they tend to nerf any kind of romance at all. Jake's constant flirting seems like a major departure from that, so that's refreshing too. Personally I think this episode was a step in the right direction after a lackluster start.

So far I'm just not feeling it. It's not that the show has any really specific things that bother me (other than pronouncing Tensou: "tensu" that is) I just haven't gotten into it. Unlike the majority of folks posting here, so far I would say I liked Samurai better. Part of it could be the Sentai source material, because in my opinion, Goseiger wasn't bad but it was kind of "meh." I am looking forward to Robo Knight and hope that he is as bad ass as Gosei Knight was. We'll see...
