I dropped Ninninger after eps. 25.
It's not that terrible, to be honest, just there's nothing in it that makes me want to go on. Last time I dropped a Sentai show was goseiger, after 9 eps., & it was far worse than Ninninger IMO. |

I've enjoyed it up to this point, but i'm ready for the main plot to kick into action, especially with only 10ish episodes left. Kibaoni Mangetsu definitely seems like he's going to be the catalyst for actual stuff to happen though, so I'm excited.

So after marathoning about a dozen episodes of Ninninger, I think the show doesn't engage viewers because it doesn't apply its theme...like, at all. Sentai that have been popular by a majority (Gokaiger, Shinkenger, Magiranger) use the theme (pirates, samurai, magic etc) to illustrate a virtuous message (being a hero, standing by your friends, having courage).
Most of the Ninninger plots could be put into any other sentai and it still works - because most of the stories don't depend on the fact that the Rangers are ninjas. If you take a Gokaiger plot and give it to another sentai the heroes would just come off as jerks - Gokaiger works because the characters are arrogant pirates learning to become heroes. If you take a Magiranger story and give it to another sentai it doesn't work - because the whole point is demonstrating courage and learning new magic. Before the show, it was pretty obvious Toei and Bandai were making this "Shinkenger 2." The look of the suits and even certain shots in the opening all mimic Shinkenger. The five sentai archetypes, while repeated almost every year in sentai, follow Shinkenger more closely than other casts even down to Chiaki and Nagi's jacket style with numerous badges. Shinkenger used samurai to illustrate a story about loyalty to one another, which would also work great with disciplined ninja. When Ninninger's characters were announced to be family, it sounded full of potential. But most of the episodes don't show these characters acting like family - the characters talk about being related to one another, but there's no sense of caring for one another like in Magiranger. ToQGer felt more like a family than these guys. Last edited by ZeoRangerV; 12-12-2015 at 07:00 PM.. Reason: Fixed |

I done watching this show can't wait for the 40th Sentai to start. http://www.rangerboard.com/showthrea...72718&page=209 It's great when you agree so closely with someone else, but the guy could quote my post if that were the case. It's pretty poor form to steal someone else's ideas and words and pass them off as your own. |

Agreed.
Sentai King, either credit people or come up with your own posts. Plagiarism in any shape or form is not cool.

I've only been paying attention on and off but... does anyone else feel like there's no end in sight for this show?
We're FORTY-ONE episodes in and the story hasn't really progressed at all. They're no closer to the role of Last Ninja and the Big Bad of the season is barely a footnote to the action. |

Even now in its 40s Ninninger just doesn't interested me and even its diehard fans are jumping ship on here. A crying shame too as it had promise and just never lived up to that. If this series and the next kill Sentai it won't come as a surprise to me. |
