I felt like ranting about something I was talking about on Facebook: There hasn't been a decent video game for MMPR since The Movie game came out when I was a kid. The fighting game was excellent and so much damned fun, and the Movie game was just as good. And I think, for me anyway, it's because you had control of the zords. You can control the rangers in these new games. 25th Ann, Samurai. But when it comes to the zord battles? Rhythm games. I mean, seriously? Alot of why I love Sentai/Power Rangers is because of the Zords. (Yes, I even call the Sentai mechs Zords. Deal with it, Boragard.) And we keep getting stiffed on the zord battles! We need a new MMPR Video game, featuring every Megazord from the original onward. And the evil ones to! Where's my lovers of Cyclopsis?!

I agree! The franchise video game endeavors have all seemed so half hearted and thrown together. I don't know much about the Sentai games or how they compare, but the Power Rangers games have been pretty lackluster with the exceptions as Sentai had mentioned (The Movie game and the Fighting Zord game). Even those weren't morphinominal, but they were fun.
With the wealth of characters that do martial arts, large amounts of fantastic Zords, color cast of villains, there is plenty a video game developer can use to develop a very fun game. Perhaps we'll see one made and released for the 20th anniversary. One can only hope. I'd like to see a blend of action role-play and summoning large megazords that you can control in battle with an epic store that strings all the series together. |

I do like how people want Rocksteady and High Moon for their favorite franchise because they made a great game(s) for ONE franchise. The problem with Power Rangers (and most games made for franchises) is the companies backig the game just wants a quick cash-in, not game of the year. |
