fist if a thread already exists sorry i was unable to find it
i was wonder how good are the korean versions of the gaoranger power animals? noticed there are a lot of ebay listings for them and was thinking of getting the gao kintaruas just for a stand in until i can get the deer, giraffe, falcon, and the large lion later (and this way i do not have to be super picky on if the giraffe has the mask or not) any input would be nice those are the last 4 mechs i need to finish my display then i can start getting doubles. the lion is the only one i can tell a noticeable difference form the pictures it looks like it;s the HK version with out chrome and dull paint |

never mind found this review of icarus and they look to be perfect stand ins. the color on the giraffe seems a bit dark but the chrome is there and all the paint and all the paint seems to be there that the american ones do not have. heck the rhino even got to keep the stickers

The plastic quality is going to be a little bit lower across the board on the korean releases as well. Not terribly but some of them are a bit weaker.

I had this exact set. It's not bad for the price, but in my opinion, the plastic does leave a bit to be desired. It's sturdy, but noticeably weaker than the usual BOJ stuff.
It's not bad, but not great, and personally I didn't like it. But that's just my opinion.

like i said just going to be a stand in until i can find the Japanese ones (i am pretty picky on condition and price)
and having extras i do not care about is always nice. this way when my little cousin comes over and wants to play with some of my zords i can let him mess with those and not the japanese ones Last edited by GPTF01; 01-05-2015 at 01:58 AM.. |

This has been bothering me as well.
I really love the Gao Icarus set and really would like to purchase the Japanese version of the set, but it is incredibly hard to find and significantly more expensive. I recently purchased the Korean version and that cost me approx. $170. I can't imagine how much more the I'd be spending if I attempted to purchase the Japanese version. Additionally, aside from a slightly lower plastic quality, the only real difference that I have noticed is in Gao Rhinos/Madillo. Sadly Gao Rhinos is lacking the metal that made him so special and hefty. Even more unfortunate is that I spent $80 on that set alone. I desperately want to get a hold of the Japanese set but is the additional money truly worth it? |

hard to tell i will get the Japanese versions eventually but this is also a good cheap what to get doubles
especially for the legs as there is a big lag of different leg options. you have gao bison, gao rhino, DX gao lion, and gao buffalo that is only 4 legs one is a set specific and the other was only used for 3 episodes |
