At age 86 Seizo Kato passed away from bladder cancer. Mr. Kato's long list of credits include a wonderful selection of Tokusatsu roles as well

Oh no. Alien Mephilas, one of the great classic Ultraman foes... even more memorable for peacefully giving up for a change. I only half-knew him as General Jark (MASKED RI-DUR) and never knew Seizo Kato by his other roles (not even Megatron or Galvatron, really), but losing the original Mephilas? That hurts. RIP, Seizo Kato.

In my mind, voice actors are what make or break a show.Without him,the show could've done bad.
In other words,I'm glad he was Megatron and Galvatron. He put soul into those characters.

Transformers is an american show though not japanese. The japanese version came later.
Transformers would have continued after G1 regardless of who voiced megatron/galvatron in the japanese version. |
