I was rewatching Tensou Sentai Goseiger Episode 4, Landick Team, Split!, and I thought about something. There are some enviroments I wished they used more in Sentai/MMPR. And yes, I understand why they can't use them all the time. But using them more than once every couple of seasons would be nice.
Night - Episode 2 of Dino Thunder proves are awesome a Zord battle can be in the middle of the night. Along with that one Mystic Force episode with the hypnotic DJ.. Can't remember the episode name. Snow/Rain - Money might be a problem with why this is never used. But still. Episode 4's Machine Battle with the snow covered mountains as a backdrop? Very nice. And how epic with a Rain Drenched Zord battle be? Just seems weird that, whatever the enemy, they always choose bright sunny summer days to stage their attacks. |

If you want to see a good tokusatsu with night footage, check out Garo. Most of its fight scenes were shot at night. As for snow, I don't really know if Tokyo gets a lot of that. The only time I remember seeing any fights in the snow was the final battle in Kuuga and some old first series Kamen Rider. Again, I think the shows have to really go out of their way to find someplace with snow. |

Not really, it's a lot cheaper to film in daylight and good weather. The show only has so much money it can spend on outdoor filming; that's why you almost always see daytime shots and a lot of the same locations reused over and over again. One of the reasons Kamen Rider Hibiki got into trouble on the production end was because they spent so much money going up into the mountains to film all of the outdoor stuff.

I think the lack of snow is just for safety.
Kinda why fights in the rain tend to be extremely quick. |

Didn't Geki have an underwater battle? I remember it happening in Jungle Fury, so I assume it happened in Gekiranger too

It's funny because Kabuto has fights in the rain, and they're all Clocked Up.

I'm going to agree with Toei wanting to save money by not doing a lot of rain/snow/night shots, but it's also a safety thing. It's hard enough seeing out of those suit in broad daylight. Image having to move around in less than ideal conditions.
