See, that's frankly an acceptable enough dub... for like late 90's early 00's standards, anyway. I've seen way worse, just in terms of pure audio, but because it's live action, there's all this body language and subtle stuff the voice actors don't do anything to convey, creating this weird disconnect that isn't there with most animation, least of all cheaply produced anime.

You'd be surprised how many, otherwise intelligent, people you may know have a poor aptitude for reading.

That and mild Xenophobia, makes me feel like society is making progress sometimes only on the surface.

"I don't like watching things subtitled" = xenophobia.
Holy fuck a leap of logic so great Superman is in tears. I'll watch things subtitled, but the simple fact of the matter is when you're busy reading subtitles you can easily miss what's actually happening visually. Especially exposition-heavy scenes. |

First of all, I didn't say just xenophobia and it was the last example, so relax - I'm not talking about YOU. When someone says "I just can't concentrate when I'm hearing another language", that sounds like horseshit xenophobia to me - particularly when the same guy (an extended family member) later says he doesn't want Chinese food because "I'm tryin' tuh quit cat! heh, heh". This isn't the only person with that attitude I've met - remember, my peer group is 35-55.

My favorite mooks are the Destron foot soldiers from V3 - specifically, the one per action scene that had rounded eyes because the actor was wearing the prototype suit. Trying to spot that guy in all the fight scenes was kind of a mini Where's Waldo? game in every episode.

Oh, if we're talking mook mooks and not MotW, I guess my favorite are probably the Ganma Commandos? They're simple, cool, kind of retro in design, and I love how the Ganma in general had a belt/coat/Eyecon setup that directly mirrored Ghost himself. It was a cool twist on the usual "the bad guys' and the good guys' powers come from the same source" plot beat in Kamen Rider.
Also the Dustards from Fourze are cool. Random ninja dudes in a show about space? Why not?

Right, they always stuck out to me too. For as much of a fan of Wizard as I am, it always kind of slips my mind just how much I liked its monster designs in general. The aesthetic for pretty much all of them just really clicks with me.
