A conversation started in one of the Gaim threads led me to create this thread.
Over the years there have been various 4 inch toylines for Kamen Riders, here's a thread to discuss and recopile info on them. UPDATE Review Masterlist: http://pastebin.com/pX8F6tMR ------- General Rider Lines -Soft Vinyl Most soft-vinyl trading figures are in the 4 inch scale, as is usual in these kind of figures they have limited articulation. (arm and waist swivels) -Kamen Rider "Full Action": Motion Revive's predecessor, they are slightly smaller but have very similar articulation. -Motion Revive Series: Motion Revive focused on the Hesei era and The First/Next movies, probably the best known line of 4 inch riders, excellent articualtion and low price made it a fan favorite. The last wave to be released was wave 6 The MRS line wasn't rider exclusive, Xenosaga and Monster Hunter got toys too. -SIC Kiwami Tamashi: A spinoff of the SIC (Super Imaginative Chogokin) line, the Kiwami Tamashi line has excellent articualtion and very detailed sculpts which reinvent the rider design. With releases becoming more scarce the future of the line is uncertain. ------- Show Specific Lines -Dragon Knight: Bandai America released a line of 4 inch figures for the Ryuki adaptation, the basic figures covered the Riders, and the contract monsters were available in two packs with the human forms of the riders. -AgitΩ: Action Formers (Link) ??? -Blade: RR (Riders and Rouzer) These figures came packaged with a "Rouze Box" designed to store both the figure and cards, the figures in this line had no accesories. -Kabuto: "Cast-Off" ??? -Kiva: Full Action These were model kits instead of action figures, and were released in character specific cases alongside the candy toy weapons and drivers. -Decade: Hissatsu! Super Transform Riders Designed as cheaper versions of the Final Form Ride line, the 9 heisei riders keep the transformation gimmick. -W: Kumitate Action(?) Smaller when compared to the other lines, nonetheless they fit the role of the 4 inch line for the show. -OOO: Combo Change ??? -Fourze: Module On ??? -Wizard: Style Action Wizard The Wizard line drops the gimmick component and focuses on articulation, the figures have excellent range of articulation and come with weapons and display bases. The Machine Winger and Beast Chimera were released too. -Gaim: ??? Last edited by algo448; 10-20-2013 at 09:20 PM.. |

Had no idea there were that many lines! I'm interested since I love that scale

The main problem being that the figures are show tie-ins that aren't rereleased and as trading figures they are hard to find unless you plan to buy a case. The Wizard ones are still easy to find, and HLJ has the last wave in stock. |

I was not even aware of those!
Honestly, I want them to take those chibbi vending machine prizes and put them in their chibbi arts line. That way it would actually sell! That and I want chibbi riders. |

I so want a new 4-inch line ala Motion Revive. Or just motion revive to come back/get rereleased.

The Wizard and Fourze figures look close to MRS, but you have to put stickers on them (or paint them). On Gaim, Do we have any confirmation on Gaim getting some 4" figures? Being candy toys makes finding info on new stuff hard (mostly because all the candy toys on AmiAmi have no images). I'm more inclined to get Gaim Riders this way since there's plenty of Riders to give the cases variety. PS I really hope SIC KT isn't dead. Outside of Kuuga exclusives, there's been nothing all year. I'm really hoping the KT line continues, at least until Kiva, Kabuto, Delta, Diend, and Jet Sliger get made. |

Looks like we have our 4"(ish) Candy Toy line:
Kamen Rider Gaim - Arms Action Gaim BOX (CANDY TOY) No images yet, but the name and case break down sounds very much like how Fourze did it's 4" line. 10 per case, 3 different figures and an armor set, like Fourze's switch sets. Only figure identified is Gaim Orange Arms. I'm willing to bet that the others are Baron and Ryugen. I'm also guessing the armors have at least Pine and Strawberry in it. Hopefully pictures show up soon. PS Just keep in mind that while I believe this is it, I'm not 100% certain without pictures. Last edited by Blade Raider; 11-01-2013 at 02:58 AM.. |
