My latest 'retrofire' figure is the White Tiger Megazord (or Won Tiger, if you prefer).
This figure was made from a 6 inch Tiger zord figure (from a special sized Tor set), an SD gundam, a 3 3/4 inch gundam, and hands from a Transformers Alternators Sunstreaker. The figure stands at about 6" tall and has a total of 24 points of articulation. It also features a removable 'lightning attack' and an energy piece that fits onto the sword. The Tiger Megazord fits in pretty well with other figures in the Retrofire line but is a little short compared to SRCs. Last edited by conundrum; 11-18-2012 at 06:34 PM.. |

What's everyone think of the add-on energy effects? This was my first time working with hot glue but I'm fairly pleased with the results.

I have to commend you on making White Tiger fit in so well with other Retrofires. I would love to own a WT like that.

Thanks. The chest beam uses the inner rod from a mechanical pencil as the main support. Craft wire was wrapped around it in the rough shape that I wanted then hot glue was applied to it. A light coat of red paint was then applied to the hardened glue.
The sword effect was a bit trickier. The sword was wrapped in tinfoil and then I applied the hot glue in the design I wanted. The hot glue was then cut off, the tin foil peeled off, and then again, a light application of red paint. Quote:
Also, I updated the original post with better photos. I don't know what it was, but there was something that seemed off about them. |
