I know I'm late to the party.
I like Jmetal, I like Band-Maid, Aldious, and DOLL$BOXX, but I always avoided BabyMetal because it seemed like such a gimmick, .. but it popped up today in a playlist I'd clicked on and had running while I was working, and I have to admit they're really good, gimmick or not. The band is incredibly good and tight, very precise. And obviously the girls work very hard to sing and have choreography for every song. Very impressed, they're very hard working and good at what they do. Someone told me about them over a year ago and told me they're 'Kawaii Metal' and I was just like, "Cute Metal? GTFO of here" Lol. I was wrong though, surprised it took me this long to actually listen to them. But the music is good and the choruses are catchy. Gimmick or not it's very well done and after watching a few videos I can see they all work very hard at what they do. I hope the little ladies are having as much fun as it seems like they're having. |

yeah I've been listening to them all day. Kind of mad at myself for actively avoiding them.
I was very against them because they're a manufactured pop band, but I have to admit, they're a damn good manufactured pop band. |

Babymetal is amazing. Who would've thought that J-Pop and Metal could work so well? Glad you're interested in their music

Ooh, well this is interesting.
Apparently, the “baby” part of their name means they are a new-born genre, i.e. kawaii metal. Also, “baby” (ベビー, bebii) in Japanese rhymes with “heavy” (ヘビー, hebii).

Saw them live when they came to NY two or so years ago.
Absolutely loved it. Friend of mine was slowly turning me onto them, but seeing them in person made me a fan. Super fun show. |

They should get Jim Breuer on their future music videos as an elderly metalhead.
