Part of the point of the whole thing was that the revised Tyramigo is capable of combining with King-Ohger's mecha, and I'm guessing they went as far as Tobaspino since it, too, can be a base body for the bugs. What surprises me is that outside of a Tyramigo-plus-King-Ohger bugs set, they mostly haven't translated these DX to minipla. |

A couple of the changes are deeply weird, presumably done to cut costs, like having Kyoryujin's helmet on top of Tyramigo's back rather than hidden in his tail. Because that looked so great on Zenkai Juran.

So this was the 10th anniversary year for Kyoryuger, and Toei + Bandai lined up some stuff. King-Ohger, mid-series, established that Kyoryuger and King-Ohger take place in the same cosmos and share continuity. There was a multi-part episode featuring the King-Ohgers visiting the world of, and fighting alongside, the grown-up Kyoryugers. The core cast reprised their roles, minus Daigo, who only appeared in a brief voiceover. The new Kyoryu Red is Daigo and Ami's adult(?!?!?) son, nicknamed Prince because we need to be on-the-nose about everything.
Great for those of us who love Kyoryuger and, presumably, nails-on-a-chalkboard for those who don't. Thus, there was a merch explosion: new repaints/reworks of the Gaburevolver and Gaburicalibur, a re-engineered DX Kyoryujin was released minus electronics and plus additional articulation, as well as cross-compatibility with the King-Ohger mecha. The new Tyramigo can technically function as a standalone version of Kyorujin without other Zyudenryu as arms. Kyoryu Red now has a "king" variant form that's part King-Ohger suit. I'm probably forgetting some stuff. And all of that was prior to the (forthcoming? or has it been released yet?) King-Ohger x Kyoryuger movie, which will apparently feature the return of Daigo. Any other parts not clear? |
