You make a good point, but Graphite got HIMSELF killed due to his arrogance and lust for power. Burgmon was just there and Dan killed him for no reason. Graphite at least started to fight. Take other Para-DX fight scenes in account, Parad mentions how he doesn't like 2 people ganging up on 1, implying a sense of honour. "But Graphite" you might think, but again, Graphite went out of his way to fight 4 enemies at once while outclassing them before Emu got DKHZ, and the times Parad stepped in were specifically when the one who was getting ganged up on didn't want to fight

Too bad for Burgermon. I wish he stayed around throughout the show.
He'd be part of the comedy to the team. Joining Poppy. |

You know your Rider show is dark when even the light-hearted episode ends with the adorable pet monster getting blown the f up.

Actually, this episode really shows a lot of the differences writing-wise between Ghost and Ex-Aid. In addition to tackling a very similar plot in a much more emotional way, this is like, what, the third episode in a row now where the opening was cut to make room for more plot? That's how you know the writers seem passionate and have a clear story in mind to tell. As opposed to stumbling around blindly for a year, then completely giving up once the final form debuted and there were no more toys to sell. Boo on not letting Emu keep the gashat though. Hopefully we'll get to see the Juju Burger form again eventually, though I could see it being like Fourze's Rocket States and only showing up a couple times during the show, then getting used in like every crossover afterwards. I'm also interested to see what goes down next week. Nothing in the magazine scans implied a new bugster born from Emu, so what's going to happen when his disease seems to break out next episode? Although it's a pretty dumb form I wish Ex-Aid could've kept the gashat. I guess since Genm has it now we won't be seeing it anymore. That new insert theme for the fight was really good.

I think it speaks volumes about Ex-Aid that an episode like this, which they had to make to promote some random one-off Gashat, which should have been pointless and unnecessary, manages to be not only relevant, but emotional and actually good. Because this was a good episode. Obviously silly, but very good.
That being said, I too found it a little weird for Parad to be so put-off by Burgermon's grisly murder when he mindlessly offed Revol last episode just for messing with his game, but I do think it makes some sense the more I think about it. At the least, Burgermon wasn't a combatant, and for all the other shit Parad has done he's never himself attacked, or been directly implicit in attacking, innocents (as far as I can remember). The fights he's engaged in are that, fights, in a game setting. And Parad has always been into fair play. Back during the more episodic...episodes of the first arc, his whole thing was letting things play about and seeing whether the humans or Bugsters would turn out victorious. Just a couple episodes ago he stepped in to fight Snipe and Brave because Ex-Aid wasn't willing to--actually, looking back, he looked pretty unhappy about that situation then too. What happened to Burgermon was just a murder. Another thing though, is that I wish they'd go a little more into Poppi being a Bugster and all that. Her reprimand of Hiiro calls back to the fact that she herself is one, but we still don't know how or why. After this episode we can infer that she didn't necessarily have to kill her host to stay around, but that only raises more questions. I wish they'd address all this soon. This episode would have been a good one to get into it, but oh well. Anyways. Did you see how Kuroto started doing a thing? What the hell, dude. This is doing like the opposite of making you more threatening! Also the insert song was p good. Anyway, yeah, good ep. Last edited by barnstenchfartface; 02-06-2017 at 02:43 AM.. |

Yup, i agree and curious is poppy gonna play big role somehow? Because all cast seems kinda ignored her existence as bugster, also yeah palad seems back pedal after last week he is kinda mindlessly killing revol IMO this episode is your standard neo heshei silly episode but somehow the writer kinda put it well because unlike gaim silly episode this well placed nicely, and i wonder the juju gashad maker will play big role for making maximum mighty gashat since he is able to develop gashat |

Ok, this episode cements it for me. Ex-Aid is completely amazing. Not only is it far enough in that I think the starting hype has died down and it's still so well liked, but they managed to take a comic relief/promotional toy episode, tie it into the plot in so many places, add some really heart wrenching moments, and still make it funny and weird! Someone on the staff must really love this show or something, because it continues to impress.
(and it keeps making me want to buy the toys. I didn't want JuJu Burger before and now I kinda do! ) Also, I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but there's one other major difference between Revol's death and Burgermon's death: Revol was absorbed into the Bugvisor and has a chance to respawn. Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure Burgermon is "GAME OVER" dead at this point.
