Hey guys.
I posted this on Twitter but I wanted to give you guys more than 140 characters to talk about what you do and do not want to see in a possible TokuNation podcast. We've gone back and forth on this thing since the site first launched, but I'm ready to give it some serious consideration. So please vote, but also post what you'd like to see, and NOT like to see, in a podcast. Obviously, we'd like to talk about Tokusatsu stuff, the shows that are airing, toys, news, etc., but we also want to include a couple of things that other shows do not include, but in a way that's manageable ... no one wants a 2 hour podcast of people just talking back and forth. So please, post your thoughts. Thanks!

I don't think a weekly show would suit Toku. Either Bi-weekly or monthly I think would be perfect.
Also, and I don't know how you would do this, but not everyone watches the newest episodes of a show the day, or hell, even week they come out, so I don't know how you would deal with spoilers. Well actually, maybe have a weekly show, but alternate. One week talk about news, toy info maybe, etc. maybe have some retrospective on past Toku shows. Then the next week talk about the current shows. That way 2 weeks worth of news/info has built up, and an episode story arc finishes and can be discussed. Just a few ideas.

Discussing various sentai shows and they're transition over to the west... Why Kamen Rider never caught on over here... It really doesn't matter what you talk about on it so long as you get awesome people with awesome topics to be on it!

Heck yea! And like I said on twitter, I'd love to help out in anyway!
Love to see- well anything that is toku related lol. Love not to see- well to long ramblings about random stuff. Love to see that others dont do- cant really think of anything. Maybe some stuff about whats goin on with everyone? Or other anime/ manga/ comic/ toy disscussions? But like Ive already said, Id love to have and help with a TN podcast! If we are nominating people, I vote Sentai, I want some JUICY!topics!

I don't really listen to a lot of podcasts, but I might if the content was right. The length of it matters too. And presentation is something that would influence my listening or not listening.
For example SourceFed's Table Talk on YouTube. Up until a few days ago, I was a regular viewer, but lately I haven't been really invested in it. Toku on the other hand I could talk/listen about for a while. Or just toys in general. It would be cool to have a sort of multiple person toy review type segment. Sure we get stuff like that on the forum, but I'm not always able to keep up with all of that. And with discussions in general, I'd like it if it were a good balance between objective and biased. Having too much of one or the other can get dull.

Sentai, just so I can know what "JUICY" actually sounds like when spoken.
Is it, like, just him scremaing it? Or is he putting on a really flamboyant inflection just for that word? I also like the bi-weekly/monthly idea, that way if there's ever a slow news week we don't have to worry about lack of topics. |

It's not a bad idea - but I also do not want to start off a podcast series by having certain episodes that people have to skip over because of spoilers. Maybe down the road, sure, but not right off the bat. Maybe certain "specials" - TokuNation Podcast 05-KRW, the crew discusses the latest episode of Kamen Rider Wizard.
Something like that. But down the road.
