With less than five days until the U.S. release of Pacific Rim, Tokunation excitedly brings you a gallery of the American Jaeger, Gipsy Danger!
Released by NECA, Gipsy Danger stands approximately 8 inches tall and has 17 points of articulation. The figure disappointingly lacks a swivel joint in both thighs and biceps, limiting the amount of posing that can be done. This Series 1 release of Gipsy Danger is also lacking any weapons or other accessories used by it in the film. Check out the gallery after the jump and keep with us as we bring you galleries of the other two Series 1 figures; the Jaeger Crimson Typhoon and the Kaiju Knifehead! Impatiently waiting for Pacific Rim? Still have no idea what it is? Check out the latest trailers below! Latest Pacific Rim Trailers Want TokuNation.com updates on the go? I got Knifehead the other day and he's pretty sweet. I'm getting Gipsy Danger Danger later this week, either Friday or Saturday. I can't wait to see the movie!
Great pictures, especially the ones with the water on the figure. Those are sweet!

I'll wait for the 18 inch version unless Gypsy Danger is REALLY awesome in the movie.
I've grown to like the design quite a lot, but on a thing that's supposed to be so massive it's just too soft in the sculpt. These Jaegers are HUGE and unlike most giant robots have the detail to support it in their designs. This just cuts too much of that detail making it look more like a Transformer-sized robot. And I mean it has to, it's a toy, but knowing there's a big version coming, eh, I'll wait. I just.. look at the head. It's so under-detailed, even for a figure that size. |

That looks incredable. But where does the Strike Pack fit in? Aile pack? Launcher? (:P)

Yum yum. I'll be getting my Gypsy tomorrow. This thing looks pretty nice, even as overly priced as NECA figures tend to be.

From looking at these wonderfully lit pictures, Gipsy Danger is giving me an American football player vibe. Is anyone else seeing that? I'm just noticing it.

But yeah, a football player wouldn't be an amiss comparrison given how it's meant to look very beefy and armoured like a brawler. (especially since it's legs are streamlined for walking through water while it's upper body, which spends less time below the waves and more time fighting Kaiju, needs to be thick and broad) The thought and effort that went into the designs really stands out when most super robot designs just kind of go for "what looks cool." They built a world and then built robots for that world. Looking cool is secondary to being practical. Explain or be subject to my confusion. Last edited by SPLIT LIP; 07-08-2013 at 09:05 PM.. |
