Welp, TVN released the sub for the first episode, so what better time to make the discussion thread.
I gotta say, the world premise hits that sweet spot of amazing and crazy. Basically, because of the continued destruction of Earth's natural environments, everyone becomes ninjas. I love it. |

I really like it too. It clearly intends to be just a bombastically fun, ninja cliche-filled and wild ride with it's limited run-time, and I'm all for that.

the references to Ninninger in the first episode are nice (even if I didn't like that series). How the antagonists appear and are introduced in the "opening" is similar to how Kibaoni Gengetsu and his generals are shown in Ninninger' opening. Rentaro being defeated in a match by a cowboy ninja.
First episode was good. Get a clear idea of Rentaro's time and his mission (if it does come off as expositiony). Weird how Hattari looks cool but is somewhat of a tryhard goof. They're really going with the fun and goofy with a side a serious ninja mini-series. I wish it was slightly longer. It's less than 20 minutes long. But aside from that, I enjoyed it. Side note: I really like the opening music. Toei, can we get an official series and opening for Shinobi. Please. |

So the 3 episode Ryuki special just finished and now they're doing Shinobi.
How many specials are there going to be? I don't want to miss any. These are all Zi-O spin-offs, right? |

There's also gonna be 2 Brain specials near the end of the month/beginnings of the next, but those don't have anything to do with Zi-O to our knowledge. |

cool, thanks. I get stretched too thin watching too many shows and it starts getting hard to keep up. Especially when they're doing multiple concurrent spin-offs.

Watched the first two episodes last night on break at work. I enjoyed them a lot. It's been so so long since I've watched anything Kamen Rider so this was a nice way to get back into it.

E2 is even shorter than e1. Seriously, all 3 eps might as well be release as one special. They can't squeeze extra filler cut scenes to oat run time like ryuki is even longer than zio weeklies.

Small role for masao/goraiger. Looks like its setting up for a potential sequel. The dark ninja could be hattari's dad. The whole three episodes can be shorten to be a 1.5 episode tbh.

Final is ... interesting.
Some nice fight scenes but Iroha love triangle is somehow most of the plot. Also the frog may be evil, and the suits we see as art only are probably more Riders. Would certainly be interesting to see more of this. |
