New content in the first Zero-One recap episode
Aruto's consciousness is suddenly taken to Zea, and meets a glitching Izu there, with an overlay of long haired Izu from the opening. She is talking in an oddly casual way (and then overcompensates and goes full samurai speech). Apparently she lost her data about Zero-One and wants Aruto to recap the events to help her remember it. After this, it's a full clip show with audio commentary. Notably though, fake Izu has all data about Metsuboujinrai, which kind of annoys Aruto at a certain point (You remember them but nothing about me?!). In spite of that, not even fake Izu knows how Jin returned. She also has Gai's data already too, and didn't want Aruto to go on about him, but he eventually interests her enough to go on with it. The very last scene though goes back to Aruto, but this time the background around him is suddenly revealed to be Ark, not Zea, and Ark-Zero is there with him rather than fake Izu. I thought it was pretty good for what it was. Aruto's commentary alongside "Izu" was generally fun enough and there were a couple of plot points hinted at. Of course, that's considering the current circumstances. Still, I've watched worse recap episodes. |

So, was Aruto just being tricked by the Ark into giving out many of his combat data as Zero-One? |

And yes there had been worse recaps. I still remember particularly fondly on Build's recap, where they tried to tell Banjou's story and it got thrown out pretty quickly. |

This was a fun recap and a neat setup.
It was also weird hearing "Izu" speak like she did, I mean I know that this likely isn't Izu but you know, given her usual speech patterns it's weird to hear her sounding like she did in the recap. |

Hold on, if I'm understanding this correctly, then not even the ark know how jin came back?

Only just got around to watching this myself. Allow me to give a totally accurate recap of the recap for anyone who still hasn't seen it yet.
"Izu":"Tell me about Kamen Rider Zero-One." Aruto: "I turn into a grasshopper and fight terrorists and it's awesome." "Izu": "That's great!" Aruto: "Wait, I'm not done yet. There's also this guy called Thous-" "Izu": "I don't need to hear about Thouser." Aruto: "But my fights with him are cool and important too, honest!" "Izu:" "...If you say so." I swear I'm only kind of exaggerating here. I understand the need for a stopping point to lead into the second part, but I can't help but find it hilarious that even "Izu" doesn't give two s***s about the contest arc. Weirdly enough, this is the most I've enjoyed an episode of Zero-One in a while? I guess the lack of new plot developments for me to question is really all it took. I was legitimately impressed they managed to get a decent mystery plot going with "Izu" though. In a recap episode! A+ for effort here. As recap episodes go, this is great. I think the other thing that made it so entertaining was how great a job Over-Time did with the dialogue for "Izu", if I can just praise that for a second. They've been working miracles with Fuwa's lines this entire show, but the level of effort taken to get across the banter here is seriously commendable. No one would blame a fansubber for phoning this one in!
