I have no idea if this has been brought up before, so sorry if I'm retreading old ground, but what if Power Rangers, endeavouring to try something entirely new, used footage not from a Sentai?
It'll never happen, either because of whatever contract exists with Bandai, or Saban/BOA's fear of doing something too different, but if you could choose a Toku to use PR's name recognition as a vehicle to be "adapted" what would you choose? A Rider series? Metal Hero? Hell, Garo? Hell, some Sentai series are making the teams less an less relevant with Red Ranger worship, they might as well be focused on one character like other Toku. BTW this is just musing, seeing what creative ideas we could come up with. I'm not saying PR shouldn't be adapting Sentai or anything, just a what-if. :3 |

I think Kabuto would be a neat choice.
It's larger number of riders would ease people in, and it would be an interesting dynamic to see the heroes at odds against each other, powers shifting multiple times (Well...TheBee/Yellow), and etc. I don't think bringing it's story overseas would be a good idea, but I think Kabuto could provide prime footage.

I actually agree with Matrix. But another good one might be Gaim or Wizard. And aside from KR I think maybe any of the Metal Heroes would do nicely. Aside from the Beet J series, or whichever ones were used to Big Bad Beetleborgs.

Then it wouldn't be Power Rangers.

A Garo adaptation in the same vein as MMPR would be....interesting to say the least.

Tomica Rescue Heroes or a team based Metal Hero show*like Winspector* I might be able to accept given they at least follow Sentai's basic concept but the lack of a megazord would be a huge hurdle to overcome. |

I can't see them adapting any other Japanese show as Power Rangers if it wasn't Sentai, but I'll admit my creativity is not so potent.
I think it would be cool if Power Rangers did its own thing entirely, without using Sentai footage, themes, suits and mecha. But at this point in time, I feel like Power Rangers IS Super Sentai, in a sense. Bandai pretty much treats them as interchangeable in their annual reports, and uses the Power Rangers name to refer even to the Sentai series like Gokaiger.
