Power Rangers news blog Samurai Cast has updated with a new post collating all the information we know so far about the 20th anniversary Power Rangers Megaforce series, including some new information concerning the characters of Gosei and Tensou.

While these characters were expected to be the American versions of Goseiger's Master Head and Datas, Samurai Cast's sources are reporting that these two will in fact be brand new characters made especially for the series.

Also included in the post are the names for characters that are to be brought over from Goseiger. In case you haven't heard them yet - Gosei Knight will be Robo Knight, while the Warstar aliens Monsu Doreiku, Buredoran and Dereputa will be named Admiral Malkor, Vrak and Creepox respectively. The grunts for the series are named Loogies.

Other than wondering how they'll do Hyper Gosei Great with one of its components omitted, I see nothing lost from dropping Datas from the series.

I think this is great news. It shows they're willing to entertain change from the source material. I'm getting more and more excited with every reveal.

Somehow I like the name Loogies better than Moogers, despite them both being ridiculous names.

So that means we only get to see Mystic Gosei brother like once...That makes me sad, I really liked the Egg Bouncing Ostrich zord.

Not surprised. Already been screwed out of an entire season of Goseiger, so not surprised they keep severly changing everything. It might be because I adore Goseiger so, but why in the name of God are they naming a character Tensou? That'd be like naming one of them Henshin.

I don't like calling them Loogies
I don't like Goseiger is being butchered to show the Legend War

But really sends me right off is Robo Fricking Knight. Of all the generic, lazy names they could've chosen that would be the worst. Gosei Knight, and I know alot of you will agree with me, is the absolutely best part of Goseiger. He was badass on another level. Ad I'm tired of Saban butchering him, and Goseiger as a whole, horrible a that episode of Robot Chicken where Turbo Teen got drunk.

Usually I like ending one of these on a high note. The only high note here is Megaforce will only be one year long so I won't have to deal with them butchering Goseiger for very long.
