Master Elehung is a dirty, dirty old man. Geki Elephant Tohja is probably my favorite combination, though. That thing looks cool and is totally badass.
Also, Mele is still hot. |

Something I really love about the martial arts and combat based series is that their growth is so much more apparent. It's not just them getting bigger guns to show how stronger they've gotten.
Elehung is fun to watch, and makes me wish he could transform into the spirit ranger. Geki Elephant Touja is pretty awesome in both visuals and application, but not my favorite Touja combo (Either Rin or Wolf), but it's definitely my favorite elephant/mammoth based mech.

And the best elephant/mammoth combo is Gaoking Sword & Shield.

I don't really like GekiElephantTouja. The shoulder pads kill it for me. My favorite GekiTouja combo is probably GekiBatTouja.

I suppose the growth is more pronounced but it didn't blow me away this time. Elehung is hilarious though, dirty pervert. Touching Rans' butt with his trunk/mouth was pretty creepy though

It's not bad, but I'm not in love with it. Quote:
Anyway, yay, Rio! I love Rio. He has my favorite arc for any Sentai character ever. AND DAT FACE. ![]()

Jungle Fury sucks in regards to this sequence of episodes. Okay, Master Phant isn't a perverted old guy (thank you Disney) but unlike "Erohung" he has little character beyond some "teach an old dog new tricks" moral and a stupid name. And the whole "There is Training in [insert activity or something here]" we just have dated Aesops. In Jungle Fury's finale, we see the Japanese Kensei costumes, and while they look weird to American viewers, they COULD have transitioned like Kruger did. Maybe they just have practical makeup to give them some animal look. But too little too late.
Also, I forget who said this, but somewhere on YouTube a reviewer refers to the Jungle Pride/Master Megazord with Elephant Power as the Elephant Pride/Master Megazord. Kudos to them! Too bad I forget who though. HUG ME, KINDRED SPIRIT! Last edited by GoseiWonder; 03-06-2013 at 10:34 PM.. |

These where fun episodes, mainly thanks to Elehung. Dirty old elephant. The GekiHammer is awesome, when we get Geki figuarts Ran had best come with it. I like GekiElephantTouja, it's nice and bulky and the GekiHammer translates across pretty well. Where these episodes really shine is the ongoing Rio Saga. Dude just ate his own despair to get stronger! He's shaping up to be an awesome villain, and I can't wait to see how he redeems himself later. |

Enter Erohan...I mean Elehung. I always enjoyed his funny loving style and his really impressive skills with the ball and chain. His training method is something I live by, even in the tough times you gotta keep positive. The ending skit with him chasing Ran and Natsume always makes me laugh. Ran getting to use the Geki Hammer was always my favorite part of the "training" arc because it was something new for her fighting style. The weapons Retsu and Jan eventually get feel more like logical extensions of the fighting style they've used so far. And another thing that shows Gekiranger isn't your typical Sentai is that it took 11 episodes to get an auxillary mecha. Rather impressive self control there.
On the other side of Gekiranger we have the start of Rio's journey. It was rather impressive of him to break that barrier through sheer force. And we the we have Kenma of the Sky, Kata join the show. Really quickly you see the difference in training styles between Kenma and Kensei. He almost nearly killed Rio in that first stunt, and almost did it with the trapping him in the nightmare. Thankfully, Rio outsmarted Kata and used his own despair to empower himself. We also see once again Mele's dedication to Rio as she doubts Kata's training methods. Keep that in mind for future episodes. The next part is a tiny nitpick. They picked the guy who voiced Master Asia in G Gundam to voice Muzankose. In a series about martial arts, I feel he should have been one of the Kenma, not a MOTW. Also dat Rio face ![]() |
