Thanks to Tokunation member Lbsammills51 for pointing us to this info. The current wave of Figure Oh scans making the rounds has revealed release info for none other than S.H. Monsterarts Biollante!
This massive monster will be a Tamashii Web Exclusive with an almost assured Bluefin release for the US market. Standing 30 CM tall, that's nearly 12", and she will also feature a chest LED gimmick, the first of its kind for this line! Now the bad news is the price. This bad girl will run you a whopping 23,100 yen which by today's exchange rate is $242! The price may be high but by comparison to the other larger figures of the line (Ghidorah, Destroyah) a high price tag like this is not unexpected. EDIT: Second image added Credit: 2chan, Import Monsters

She's also a Tamashii Web exclusive released in November, and of course will be getting a Bluefin release, probably officially announced within a week with price and date TBD.
I'm ready, Bandai. I'm sure I have a vein or two left untapped for precisely this figure. Shame on you.

I want this. I've actually never seen the vs Biollante movie either. Although the price point will probably keep me away. Unless Bluefin brings it over and Den-O sells one. In which case, I may eventually cave on this one too.....(>_<)

You beat me to it, that's why. It's fine, you got the gist of it until we know more about her figure. Need details on her light-up feature. I hope it pulsates!
That's easy and, unlike the MonsterArts, incredibly cheap to remedy. Godzilla vs. Biollante can be had on DVD for $5!

First things first -- G vs Biollante is a very good movie, so go grab a cheap copy of it and enjoy! I cover it on my podcast as well, see the link in my signature.
Now then, that is one impressive toy! She looks amazing, and the size is a big plus for me because in this form, she is massive, much larger than Goji. But dang, that's a lot of money! I have passed on the MAs because I knew it would be too much money over the long run, and I have a whole lot of G merchandise, figures, dioramas, and so forth already. But a big Biollante like this is going to be hard to resist!

Well I'm out. THere is no way in hell I'm ever going to be able to afford her. NOt to mention she does not even look like a $200 figure with that overly long neck. And how much articulation does she even have? It sucks because this is the figure that got me interested in MonsterArts to begin with. Can I get one without the LED gimmick for $80?
And to the person that said they have never seen the movie, go out to Best Buy right now and buy it. They sell the BLu-Ray of it for $8. |

Bluefin sure wasn't kidding when they said MonsterArts collectors would be running out of money, where they ? Holy crap at that sticker shock. Granted I understand because Biollante is FREAKING massive. And the LED gimmick is a neat touch. I'll wait for an Amazon sale before even considering her(that and I have other Kaiju to pick up first).

I wonder if the chest LED gimmick portends them re-issuing Burning Godzilla with an LED?
I heard some folks are modding theirs to put one in . . .it's a good idea. |
