I'm starting to develop a Pavlovian reponse to being pissed off whenever she's on screen. Just everything about her rubs me the wrong way.
Anyway, that little anecdote aside, this was a pretty good trio of episodes. Ultraman saved the Night Raiders from crashing and dying, rain on that parade bitch, I dare you. We see the truth behind Riko's backstory. Both Riko and Komon's scene at the apartment were very mind screwy. We have the introduction of Mirogi(sp, I really should have paid better attention to his name), a person who definitely seems to be the driving force of antangonism currently. With his sending the Night Raiders on a false positive hunt, screwing with Komon's brain, and using Riko as his marionette. I'd have to say the most surprising thing about these episodes is the revelation of Faust, it was Riko. And that raises many questions about what had happened to cause that how does the former Night Raider factor into this. Really enjoying the mystery of the story telling. |

So Riko turned out to be Faust, genuine surprise actually.Even though thanks to an unfortunate image my computer decided to use for a later episode's thumbnail,it was pretty much spoiled to me that she was Faust.
I was also happy to see the Night Raiders and Nexus work together and Nagi couldn't do anything to mess it up I'm also glad we're starting to delve into Nagi's past.Mizorogi obviously had some effect on her. I'm kinda disappointed that Faust seems to be a lackey to Mizorogi that also seems to haved turned against him.I was getting really pumped about the idea of having this evil Ultraman being a looming presence. Really great set of episodes this week, hope the next batch is as plot heavy. |

Just checked out episode ten before I started my day. I'd feel bad about abandoning this Let's Watch because I was part of the reason Nexus got chosen and we have like six people who post in these threads, and most of them only post once but this show just really isn't doing anything for me.
I don't find Ultraman Nexus fun to watch while fighting, I don't find leather jacket a compelling hero, I don't feel Komon picks up the slack in the hero department...like at all, hell I don't care about any of the characters as they are all poorly written and poorly acted - and it looks like a certain couple is failing chemistry class. The special effects are fucking terrible - that scene of Ultraman putting down the toy plane with the dramatic music was laughable and if it wasn't for these new inclusions of Faust kicking Nexus around the scaled set I'd have nothing to enjoy. Just, blah. So that Faust twist...was fantastic! My big problem with a lot of stories entirely built around a crucial twist, is that they write it in such a pretentious fashion and assume the audience is stupid. So you get all of these scenes which are near nonsensical and stick out like a sore thumb as the x media is sort of nudging you going 'hey, this is a clue dumbo'. So by the end, no matter what the twist turns out to be, it is always oddly disappointing because you've basically been rolling your eyes waiting for it for the past x hours. Faust on the other hand here was a very very simple, almost dumb twist, probably for the children in the audience but because there were no THIS IS A CLUE or THIS WILL MAKE YOU GO OH YEAH AT THE END scenes I wasn't anticipating any kind of twist, so this stuff just blew my socks off. Honestly despite my words around episode 10 (which was terrible) I really enjoyed 11 and 12.

While Komon as a character is definitely growing, he's held back by Komon's actor. Every time I see that "RIKOOOOOOOOOOOO" scene, ugh. He does thankfully get a little better as the series progresses... Honestly shocked almost no one's brought it up. Or the kaiju a lot, for that matter! Nosferu, between his appearance and the stories of what he's done, definitely make him one of the creepiest monsters of the series. That's saying something for a creature that basically looks like a giant naked mole rat. I've never seen Tsuburaya pull out the suit again, which suggests that like many other monsters he may have been cannibalized for something newer or otherwise unusable... shame! Everything with Mizorogi always put a smile on my face, and will continue to as we learn more about him. If any of you enjoying Nexus happen to move on to other Ultra series, check him out in Ultra Galaxy and Never Ending Odyssey. His complete 180 in his role in those series... man.

Just got done with the episodes, thankfully Nagi wasnt the center of attention by hating on Ultraman like the last few! Oh and Faust/Riko, holy crap that was cool. Never really liked her to begin with so eh. Komon is somewhat startig to figure out that this stuff weirder than it seems

Just finished this week's block of episodes. It was a good one. I knew Riko's days were numbered, but this is definitely not what I expected. There was some very dark, kinda horrifying stuff in 11 and 12. I liked it.
I'm kind of glad Faust is probably gone, though, as the fights with him were getting repetitive and Nexus was just looking really dumb for still trying to pull out the Meta Field even though Faust was just going to corrupt it and weaken him. |

Episode 10: ok I haven't said this before but man I find it hard to take giant humanoid people real in the fake city stages I find it more believable with sentai and there robos then ultraman in the big forest any way though episode 10 was really enjoyable and I like how the night raiders captain believed in komon more and the they work to gather ultra some what and Faust is begging to be interesting even more but I dai geese to episode 11
Episode 11: ok the hole reiko/Faust is kind of unexpected and I can see this beguiling more and more at least Komon know witch ultraman to befriend and now a night raider killed reiko before the beast in cold blood now that is not right but I did like to see CG ultraman footage it convinced me more then the suit but to end this poster to to episode 12 Episode l2: ok so episode 12 starts off really well and makes me want to know more what actually going and I also feel like it mazorogi is Faust more then any thing he feels like he is and sound like it as well. And I will miss reiko I really liked her but its time to let the mystery unfold more in this week lets watch Wednesday episode 13 14 and 15.
