It's been a busy couple of days at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Yesterday we learned that Power Rangers Megaforce would be an adaption of Super Sentai Goseiger, which has sparked quite a bit of contraversy around the Power Rangers fan community - speculation and expectation had a majority of people thinking that the 35th Anniversary Super Sentai Gokaiger would be adapted for the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers. The latter series involved a form of spandex heroes who had the ability to morph in to previous Rangers to battle an evil empire intent on taking over the Earth.
The folks at RangerCrew are in attendance at the Licensing Expo and had a chance to sit down and talk with Saban Brands about a number of things. We've summarized them below. Check out the RangerCrew link for their write-up.
There are more updates to come, including more information on Power Rangers Megaforce! Stay tuned! Want updates on the go? Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @tokunation! |

All this sounds like pretty awesome news. The logo, however, is terribly bland >.>

Surprising that they're acknowledging a more adult fanbase. Something tells me they'll be met with a howl of "ORIGINAL SENTAI BETTER!!1!".

The one thing that Transformers did (which I think was brilliant) was to include the older fans/collectors that stuck around during the lackluster days in helping rebuild the brand. Saban and Bandai should recognize the Tokusatsu fans around the world are getting older but staying loyal - and do something a little more to appease their thirsts for stuff as opposed to simply Google translating a TV show and pumping out neutered/gutted/cheaper toys.

It's great to hear that Saban wants to interact with us. I hope Megaforce will be better than Goseiger.

As someone who greatly enjoyed Goseiger, I'm looking forward to the better toys that may potentially come out now. Because the original Japanese DX stuff is, eh, not great.

Kickback, did they mention what you posted earlier? About them ordering another 22, plus a holiday special, calling it Super Megaforce or whatever? |

Perhaps this is how they intend to kill two birds with one stone; get in a Goseiger adaptation in, but also leave enough time for a Gokaiger adaptation for the 20th Anniversary.
Or maybe I'm just dead wrong. |
