Gah, I really hope this guy isn't too expensive on the aftermarket. I had to choose between him and Akiba Red for June's orders, and went with Akiba because of the stands.
He looks great though, even if he lacks bicep swivels.

I managed to hopefully secure a DekaRed thanks in no part to a friend of mine. I just hope the other DekaRangers won't be too ungodly expensive to get later down the road...

Just ordered one on Mandarake with a few other needs. Hopefully it's in stock.

Damn, I'm glad I decided to proceed on collecting the Dekarangers. Deka Red looks too sweet to pass on.

If they wouldn't have had to make it come with the Wrapper, just imagine the good items we could've gotten. We could've gotten a detailed Murphy, We could've gotten some form of the battle armor. We might've even gotten him to transform into the bazooka all the rangers use. SWAT mode parts. D-Knuckles, the D-Revolver, and the list continues. Instead we have to get peices for a weapon from another show completely, that doesn't even look that good to start with.
And I know what you're thinking. "Sentai, the Party Pooper". No. I like the suit designs from Akibaranger, especailly Blue. I like Blue to the point I almost asked for her from Kick instead of Goseiknight. Almost. I like the Z-Moe Gun/Henshin device. So I'm not down on the entire series. I'm just down on them needing to add something some of us will never use. There are alot of collecters that will buy this, because they love Dekaranger, and now are stuck with giant handcuffs they'll never use. Because they have no interest at all in Akibaranger. And the same thing for Boukenger, and Jetman. Just wasted space for something they could've included with the Akibarangers. Or sold seperately as a web exclusive, Bandai likes web exclusives. Just seems a waste to me. And it also makes them have to use a bigger box, which adds weight, which increases shipping. So you're also paying more for something you might never use. |

I refuse to believe the Dekas never would've been made if not for Akibaranger.

Maybe not but the fact of the matter is that Akibaranger was used as a merchandising vehicle for Deka Red, Red Hawk, and Bouken Red. Them coming with the Inordinate Power parts is just good cross promotion.

The thought of them coming with SWAT parts would probably put me off them to be honest. It would either need so many extra limbs it would be better just to release a different figure (which they are doing by the looks of it) or clip-on pieces which are just going to restrict the articulation, which is part of the reason I'd be buying it in the first place.
