I think Tokyo Revelation was probably my first exposure to Megami Tensei.

also: あ~! both these shows were definitely celebrated here too. I feel like Abenobashi was especially made a fuss of as it was a GAINAX show, but not so many people talk of it now.

Oh, that's really cool! In the US there used to be a late-night block that would show alot more obscure anime shows. It's how I found stuff like Betterman and Magical Shopping Arcade. I miss that channel.

I looked up Tokyo Revelation and it sounds pretty cool. I'll definitely have to check it out sometime.

I don't know if it did in America, but over here there was a big deal made of the new wave of Japanese animation, and every Saturday, one of the big channels would show a different OVA in celebration; Orgun was one that stayed with me when I first saw it as a teenager, Tokyo Revelation was another that made a big impact on me.

It aired on TV!? I definitely missed that! I discovered it thanks to Super Robot Wars, haha.
