I'm not concerned about Saban. The first Power Rangers movie was a tough nut to swallow only because it tried too hard to be what Hollywood wanted and not what the kids wanted. By the second movie, the interest in Power Rangers had dwindled considerably as kids grew up (4 years is a long time to keep a current-day child's attention). My concern comes from Executive Producer Jonathon Tzachor. He's following in the foot-steps of Bruce Kalish, but more so when it comes to "literally just translating episodes".
It would make Goseiger almost impossible to do, and Gokaiger just wouldn't work here if directly translated. I just feel there's wasted potential to make some REALLY amazing episodes, and to someone like me with a lot of creative thinking going on in my head 24/7, I almost find it lazy.
We'll get there in terms of traffic and popularity. TFW2005 didn't become number one until, really, the 2007 movie hit. We were always competing with AllSpark and Seibertron. The difference is TFW2005 evolved and adapted to become a total "one-stop-shop" ... easy to view news, discussion, and galleries ... all in the forum. We still compete for page views with Seibertron and search engine results ... but our forum is the most active by far.
I'm doing so-so, just finished up 17-23 of Fourze. Gotta say though that so far I am just not digging it, but I am so invested in terms of watching it that I -have- to finish it.
As for the Robots that shift shapes, yeah. I know what you mean, I think the main thing that is really pulling me away from them is the over-abundance of third party gear. (And obviously the nonsense with FE, and how long it has taken from Prime to start again...)
But, it is nice to see that I know people from the TFW boards over here as well. I just wish that these boards would get more noticed. (Just not TFW Noticed... If you know what I mean.)
Hey now. My days of being a "moderating admin" are long gone, I was more of a "content admin" but that took a back seat lately to Tokusatsu for me. That, and I'm kind of getting out of the Robots in Disguise. Still read the comics, still watch the shows (if I remember to) ... but yeah, Transformers has changed so much that I've lost most interest in it now.
I am doing pretty well. Been a busy, busy last couple of months. Lot of things in store here, just need more time to get it all done. How are you?
