Yes! It gave such a good message about imagination and play, as well as the importance of play and the relationship between father and son. I thought it would be good for just a few laughs, but it turned out to be surprisingly deep.
SPOILERS FOR ANYONE LOOKING AT COMICGUY'S PAGE!!!!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE LEGO MOVIE TURN BACK NOW!!!
Me too! and I think it took a lot of risks, like villianizing the instruction booklet, and I love how with that twist they didn't do a "It was the boy's imagination all along" or "It's Toy Story" but you have our world, then the Lego world which is also real, but they're just two different planes of existence...it's super clever, and I personally think that those two risks paid off.
Maybe they might, just depends if they'll do more waves in this line.
Gosh, I loved the LEGO Movie so much. It was so clever, don't you think? Especially that twist near the end. When I saw that I knew I must have a Lord Business.
