I have not. Didn't even watch the last series. We don't get BBC on our TV plan.

I love the idea that we'll have a Doctor compatible with Harry Potter, Star Wars, LOTR, Scooby Doo and Batman.

Curious as to if my mom will pick it up, since she loves Doctor Who.

Yup. I like it. I'm also familiar with a few of the words like Divvy. But I know it can get quite thick at times.

Like I said though, a few things I say sounds weird to others. Like I pronounce Aluminium with British English as opposed to the US and Canadian aluminum.(Aloom-a-num). Still, the tone of the accent is something that remains distinctive regardless of my words. Maybe I'll look into letting you hear it...eventually.

You could probably find examples online. Though you've probably heard something like it, a running joke is that you can find the accent all over the world with some variations. It's sort of hard to describe, and I really don't notice it myself unless I hear it back on a recording.

It also affects certain pronunciations. For example, I say sometimes say Tuesday as Toos-dee. Adding a dee is pretty common for things with a Y. Sun-dee, Mon-dee, etc. One of the more noticeable and just outright wrong things I used to say was the word Southern as Souther-ren.

I guess it would be a Southern accent.

I honestly don't know. I know it was around back in 2013 or so. I was a member of a different forum then. I think it may have been active since 2012.
