Oh, Wrath of Khan is widely considered the best Star Trek movie ever. Yes, it has that Khan bit, but it's thought-provoking yet not pretentious and very action-packed. The best of the Kirk era, and still the best Star Trek movie in my book.

First, these aliens numbered 600 and refused to share even an inch of their planet. Second, compared to real world analogies, the aliens need not even sacrifice their way of life or lives, they simply have to be willing to let go a bit. Finally, the aliens themselves were technological superiors to the Federation who simply immigrated to the planet earlier. It's like a man discovering the cure to AIDS and insisting on keeping it all to himself.

Yes, the villains were evil themselves, but even the producers and cast, like Patrick Stewart, admitted that if they were only a bit more flexible and negotiated a bit, it would be so easy to come up with a creative and mutually beneficial solution.
