This world is chaos and confusion, if there were no standards of decency than it would descend into more chaos and confusion. Every heinous crime would be acceptable, and every mistruth allowed and tolerated.

Enforcing one set of ideals brings balance to humanity.

(Make no mistake, I don't actually advocate this. But sometimes I do wonder about it. This would be a good idea for a supervillain in a future story)
