In the long run, when I'm a professional that is, I want to create a fantasy world with a few civilizations, and one civilization guarded by a group of heroes. The world will be kind of like Avatar's, and I'm still working on the mechanics of their powers and what not. The main theme of the story will be about faith and hope vs despair and hopelessness. The enemy will be a gigantic civilization that seeks to oppress both physically and psychologically. It will be my weapon against cynicism. Besides the overarching story arc, there will be stories of the individual warriors who have varying personalities, and how they make sense of hope in their own ways.

Yes, it's all very wishy washy and not concrete, but it's something I've been thinking about in one form or another since I was a kid, and have been laughed at for repeatedly.
