Still Sonic CD was such a good port it was pretty playable. The very fact SEGA makes these games continuously available means I have bought them so many times, on the PS2, on Steam and on iOS. I'd gladly buy them again on future platforms.

You know the cool thing about the Sonic games...SEGA actually had been doing lousy ports for years. Their iOS releases of the Genesis Sonic games were poor, just like Capcom's MMX is now. There's an unofficial modder who actually found a way to emulate Sonic CD perfectly on the iPhone called Christian Whitehead. Though it was probably illegal, what SEGA did was hire him to do an official version for sale on the App Store, and it was perfect. They have since hired him to revamp the older ports such as Sonic 1 and 2 and offered them as free updates for those who have bought them before. Really nice on SEGA's part. I'm just waiting for Sonic 3 & Knuckles now.

I know what you mean. The thing is, they are essentially unplayable...if not for a few...vigilante "archivers" that keep video game history alive, if you know what I mean. Sigh, I just wish the official people actually do a better job at archiving themselves... *cough*Capcom*cough*. I am glad that the Sonic franchise is always easily available, though.
