I want to create worlds one day, whole fantasy universes with cultures, people, magic, everything. But that can't happen until I can unlock that creative secret.

Well I say it in the colloquial sense, but I get what you mean.

I have taken quite a few classes. I paid a lot for one two years ago, and I found out my skill levels were much more advanced than everyone else. The thing about drawing classes is that they all teach you how to observe, not create. So you learn how to draw what you see (which is fine) but it's hard to draw from your mind.

And classes are very expensive anyway, so unless something looks really promising I think I'd rather self-teach. Been through quite a few good ones already.

Just gotta draw more, maybe fill out that DeviantArt account. I've had that account for nearly a decade, and maybe just 10 drawings there.

Thanks, but honestly I think the only thing I'm ever good at is passing exams, and even that can be quite suspect. And in drawing I'm similar, I'm decent at copying stuff (so like drawing off photographs) but I have no skill at being actually creative (with the create part). And art classes only teach you how to copy.

But hey, who knows? Maybe I just need to get into the habit again.

I've always wanted to try my hand at sculpting but was never really good at it. Really the only skill I've sort of tried to keep since young is drawing, but I've stopped and I still suck at it.
