I'm sure the series would find another solution. For me, though, I'd rather take my chances fighting 6 billion Inves than kill them before they transform. It's actually a very common argument in zombie apocalypse stories like The Walking Dead (say, do you play the game? In case I spoil anything) so it's very commonly debated.

At the very worst I think, I'd rather humanity die than have to do this. Yes, it might sound horrible, but that's just my ideals, I guess, where I don't think the ends justify the means.

Also regarding Yggdrasil's, I feel plan, I feel different about it depending on who's doing the talking. When Ryouma or Sid talk about it, I feel disgust like Kouta does, but when Takatora talks about it, I kind of feel sympathetic for him. Like Ryouma and Sid feel evil, but Takatora seems like he's just doing the best he can to save humanity.
