That's right. That's when she's 18. The show starts off when she's 10.

Erin herself is a remarkable character. Talented, achieving extraordinary things, but the coolest thing is that it's not because of anything truly amazing about her. Not because she's extraordinarily intelligent (though she is smart), not because she has magical powers (despite being rumoured to have so), nor because she has any position of authority. Rather, it is her sense of idealism, her purity, her determination and her great capacity for love that changes the course of destiny.

It's actually quite similar to How to Train Your Dragon, although less idealistic. Erin learns to domesticate the beasts, but they are beasts, so they retain their ferocity (and definitely aren't as likable or human as Toothless). So it becomes an extra challenge for her.

The show is on Crunchyroll. It's very underrated, in my opinion.

It's called Kemono no Souja Erin (The Beast Player Erin). It follows the life of a talented girl named Erin, from when she was 10 until she's 18. Her resourcefulness allows her to tame beasts unlike any before, and because of this, she is caught in the politics of the kingdom, among those who seek to exploit her skills for personal gain and war.

It's a very impressive fantasy epic, with a depth that you'll find in stuff like Lord of the Rings. The world was complex and very alive. I enjoyed myself immensely.
