I don't do Dark Brotherhood quests either, not a fan of assassins. I do usually join the Thieves Guilds, but I didn't do it in Skyrim. How is it? The Guild in Oblivion was actually good, they had this Robin Hood thing going on and an insanely good final reward.

Oh yes, Morrowind gave you way more freedom in stealing. As long as you're not caught, take whatever you want and sell to whoever you want. Not like Elder Scrolls games lately which required you to be a Thieves Guild member to sell stolen goods. I suppose it makes roleplaying a good character (like I usually do) easier, but it would be disappointing for thief role-players. And treasure in Morrowind really meant something! Not the scaled rubbish nowadays where treasure is tied to your characters' level and only good at high levels. In Morrowind if I could get the best gear if I only dared to brave the toughest dungeons.

And the lore! Morrowind has much more detailed lore than later games. The books were plentiful and the story complex and fascinating.

Oh the freedom was amazing. I mostly played with Alteration and used all kinds of speed/levitation spells to defy the laws of physics and be Superman. Playing a mage was crazy fun in Morrowind.

Yes, of course I know about the theme. Both Oblivion and Skyrim employ the Morrowind theme in their themes. It's interesting how they both got such energetic themes from Morrowind's serene, graceful theme. I still think this theme is one of the best of all video game history.

I also think Skyrim adapted the theme way better than Oblivion. Did you realize Skyrim actually used the whole theme while Oblivion took just a short cue from it?

Yeah, I think Skyrim had the potential to be better. Have you played Oblivion before? It's weird but Skyrim's dungeons are way better than Oblivion's.

I've already talked about why I don't like Skyrim, but since you mentioned dungeons, I must say I hate how Skyrim locks away certain dungeons' rewards, especially Word Walls, in some quests. It's rubbish how I must join certain factions to access certain dungeons.

The best game in the series is still Morrowind, I think. It's very dated now, but the gameplay was truly open-ended then. You could walk right up to the final boss and kill him if you feel you're capable, and skip the whole story.
