Yup, the first major challenge that tests the hero and helps him prove that he's capable of being a hero. The most recent examble in Kamen Rider that I can think of off the top of my head is in Wizard when Haruto fought Phoenix and activated Flame Dragon for the first time. Really put Haruto's abilities to the test and he came out stronger because of it.
