I'm guessing because the main antagonist is an alien invader, and the plot is about getting the three main kingdoms to cooperate to defeat him together.

It could be Wonderland for all we know. I like silly plots.

Oh well.

The game keeps count, and gloats in your face during the credits. That stupid last boss! As soon as the battle begins he immediately dashes and takes away nearly half your life. It's saying something when nearly half o all my deaths were due to that last boss.

Creepy. Why all these cynical characters?

Well, I died a total of 80 times in the game. The last area was split into four parts, and I died 10 times each in the first three parts. For the final boss, I died 34 times. 34 + 10 + 10 + 10, I died 64 times in the final area, 80% of my total deaths.
