Power Rangers Samurai Toys - What have you bought?
So I know some of you collect the Power Rangers Samurai toys. What have you bought? Right now the TRU exclusive big ass sword looks cool to me, I want the DX Shinken Oh for next year for sure, and the 12" armor ranger looks like a lot of fun.
I am also very very tempted for some reason to buy the Shogun Buckle, I got out of the role play items when I was a kid but man..that and the Shogun mask look cool. Hmm... |
I got the following:
My favorites are the DX Octozord and Mega Blade and I think the most pathetic buy is the Samuraizer. Looking forward to DX Shinkenoh and the 4" Princess Red Ranger. |
I've got the 4" Mega Mode Red, and the majority of the Mega Bloks blind bag figures. I want to pick up the 4" Mega Mode Gold but I still haven't seen it anywhere, and perhaps the big Shogun Mode figure. The latter seems less likely now as I might just wait for the 4" version.

if u want i could send u the hero pack
i have collected the entire dx megazord line! (except for mini claw) i want each mode in red, still need 4" shogun rita repulsa shinkenger figuarts (i count those!) shogun buckle super bullzooka samurai morpher |
Only toy from Samurai own is the mini figs from Megablocks...and I didn't even pay a cent for them.
Samurai Megazord and Sharkzord. And honestly? I wish to god I'd have bought one of the other ones. Sharkzord is a waste of money.
I was at TRU and they had the COMPLETE Megazord set for Samurai...I am not a collector of those giant robots...but I will say...was mighty tempted...
4 inch Megaranger Red, 4 inch Mooger, DX Samurai Megazord, DX Clawzord, and the Octozord. I will be buying the heck out of Shinken-Oh.
Was just fooling around with some Megazords :P
I've got DX Samurai Megazord, Clawzord, Lightzord and Sharkzord. Need the rest of the DX Zords. I've also got the Spin Sword (which while ridiculously small is quite fun), the Black Box and the Hydro Bow. I picked up all the Megamode Rangers, Red and Gold Samurai Rangers and villains Deker and Rita. I still need Xandred, a couple of Moogers (probably like 3) the other four Samurai Rangers, all six Super Samurai Rangers (if they make Pink and yellow), all six Super Mega Rangers, Shark Attack Samurai Ranger, Shark Attack Mega Ranger, and all six Shogun Rangers (hoping that they MAKE all six in the four inch scale, because that is one of my favorite designs ever). My god, that is a lot of four inchers I still need. |
i pretty sure shark attack and shark megamode dont exist
They exist as metallic-paint exclusives, but I don't think they've had mass releases.
I have bought none because I do not like Bandai's 4 inch bad proportions over muscled figures with little details and oversized weaponry.
I'm normally not a fan of em either, but I picked up Deker along with the red Shogun ranger today, and I'm pretty glad I did. I'll probably nab the pink one the next time I see it couse while the shoulders kinda bug me on the normal female molds, the one with a white collar or whatever seems to do away with that, and without looking bland like the older versions did.

Sentai's Reasons Why Muscled Action Figures Work Or Sentai is Bored Muscled Action Figures work because they aren't Figuarts. Muscled Figuarts would look doofy, like He-Man on Steroids. But when they're small four inch fingers, or even six inchers, they have to have some muscle tone. Some mass to them. That's why all the Spider-Man figures I've ever seen, no matter how awesome Spidey is, have always looked misproportioned. Because he looks smaller than he should be. And that's how it would be for MMPR figures. They'd look mismatched and small if they didn't have, atleast, some tone to them. Yes, sometimes, they do go overboard. But. It's a small price to pay for such cheaply priced figures. |
I dunno, some of the new Spiderman figures look pretty good proportion-wise. But yes I agree that it might have something to do with giving them more mass, that or kids just prefer them looking more "super-heroic"? A lot of the artwork for lunchboxes and bags tends to have muscly rangers too.

Samurai Toyline stuff I've bought, and some thoughts:
- The core six Rangers, in Mega Mode: In general, for the $6 apiece I've paid for the 4 inch rangers, I have been very happy with them. More articulation than I thought initially, plus the fact that I got an entire team of six rangers + decent accessories for $36 or so made me really damn happy. YES, they are flawed figures. YES, they have "STEROID PROPORTIONS!!11!" But honestly, for Power Rangers fans, we should be used to it by now. - Xandred: Flawed as all hell, with a very impressive sculpt. Articulation is made useless by the sculpting, but in all honesty I'd rather have him with a mostly uninterrupted sculpt instead of an inaccurate design with a range of motion that doesn't exactly scream Xandred/Doukoku. - Mooger: See Xandred. - Shogun Ranger: REALLY impressed by this one, as I thought the giant shoulder armor would kill any poseability whatsoever. But then I look to see that they're actually on balljoints, so they can be moved around out of the way of the shoulder itself. Also, you can combine the Bullzooka (Best weapon name, ever) and the Mega Blade into the Shogun Spear. - Samurai Megazord: Yes. It's a botched attempt at the actual zords. However, the Megazord itself (Which I got for $12~) is incredibly well proportioned and is honestly worth it if you're going to get... - Claw Megazord: This guy. THIS GUY. This one was well worth paying retail on. Giant fucking lobster mode, a great adaptation of his gimmicks... generally the whole package is fantastic. Until you get to his integration with... - Octozord: Saw this at Walmart with the intention to sell it to a bro who ended up finding one the day I found it, I kinda regretted this purchase. His integration with Claw Megazord is ALMOST perfect, except his hilt cannot be truly formed due to the size of the Claw Megazord's fist. He's still a really great zord, with tons of Zord Builder options. Overall: I'm very happy with this line, and I'm probably going to end up going full-on into the Megaforce toyline. |
I had bought the Gigazord boxset as well as the 6 Mega-Ranger set from TRU during the recent BOGO 40% off sale. But Then I realized I really didn't have space or room for them, so returned them. Ah well.
for me i picked up at asda for £4.49 Red Blue Green and Yellow Mega Mode Rangers As soon as i get the normal non mega mode figures of them they be having the power weapoms the mega mode come with due to theyy look better on them and i got Octo and shark from Cutoros on here
I have picked up the carded Yellow Samurai Ranger, Yellow Mega Ranger, and Master Xandred. I also got the 6 pack of Super Deforms.
My wife bought me the shogun red ranger and some power ranger samurai juice boxes from the grocery store. I thought that was cool
Unless we are counting the TRU SHFiguarts Red and Gold Rangers. In that case, I have those 2 :)
just cool! do u know how rare the 4in shogun is!!
Collecting the Samurai DX zords was that start of my descent into DX zord/robot collecting. Well that and seeing the Magiranger robots after ignoring Super Sentai for years.
I've collecting all the DX zords for completing the Gigaderpazord (sometimes I just like to collect utter trainwrecks. Like the year I decided to collect all the Rock Lords). And I have the Sharkzord. Given I picked up most of these on sale and ended up paying less than the TRU box set. I'm really looking forward to the DX ShikenOh that has been hinted for US release and I'm debating getting a DX DaikaiOh. While HaOh is too big and ugly to justify spending my money on, I don't think DaiKai ShinkenOh looks too bad by himself. If the newer parts forming/puzzle emblem & animal mode Origami also had a combined mode, I'd be tempted to collect them. Though so far I've only seen the Lion and Dragon at my local TRU |
