Kamen Rider Wizard Episode 01 Ratings - Go-Busters Improves
1 Attachment(s)
The ratings for last weekend's premiere of Kamen Rider Wizard and the continuing Super Sentai Go-Busters have been revealed. While we didn't post it on the frontpage, there was a discussion in our Go-Busters Discussion Forum about how Go-Busters had achieved something that no other Super Sentai show before it had - six episodes below the 4% rating level.
We are pleased to tell you (if you're a Go-Busters fan) that Go-Busters has ended their streak - the last episode (Mission 28) scored a 4.4% rating. Kamen Rider Wizard managed to premiere at an astonishing 7.1% - much higher than Kamen Rider Fourze ended on. Keep in mind, Kamen Rider OOO and Kamen Rider W/Double premiered in the 10% range, so Wizard has a ways to go to get the franchise back to where it's been. At the current trend, Go-Busters is on pace to be the lowest rated/watched Super Sentai of all time. We will see how the second episode does for Kamen Rider Wizard. Im telling you, Bandai is making a concerted effort to save this show. Its been boring and dreadful to watch up til now but these last 2 episodes have been serious game changers. Im loving where things are headed.

I'll still love you Go-Busters. Even if nobody else does

Not surprising Go-busters picked up when the new Kamen Rider started, we'll have to wait and see how it goes for here. The show has a lot of good ideas.. it just hasn't done anything with them up until now, it's been a real disappointment.
|
that's a darn shame, I've been Thoroughly enjoying Go-Busters.... but it is all about the Toy sales....and those are some pretty weak toys....
|
Could one problem be that their starting at different times? Or is Go-Bust still going because it's longer than Kamen Rider?
Maybe if they started and ended them together, instead of broken like this, ratings would help. |
Actually, this may be the greatest thing to happen to Go-Busters.
Lots of times when a high rated and popular show airs, the shows airing before and after get a mild increase in viewership. I think something similar happened when TFA first aired, the cartoon block it was in had a spike in viewership. |
It'll certainly get some spillover from Wizard as long as that show continues to be awesome. But its also helping that Gobuster is headed in a better direction. The last 2 episodes, combined with Messiahs evolution, the Gavan crossover, and Tategami Rai-Oh make me believe that the second half of the series will be great. Its a shame that it took 25 boring run of the mill episodes to get to that point though.

You could say they were building character development so we can ... no. No you can't. They just fumbled a show with a great premise and idea. Now that they're in the home-stretch they're putting everything they have in it to try and save it.
|
I wouldn't say its fumbled just yet, there's still plenty of time to save it. It won't come out the best Super Sentai show ever, but even with the low ratings I don't think it's the worst.
|
Meh, the only reason the ratings were that high for Gobusters was because people did not change the channel after Wizard ended.

Also, very good news. I hope Go-Busters can regain enough of an audience to put next year's series on a good start. |

Nice to see Go-busters doing better. I hope it continues to improve. A great second half would make for a fantastic show.
I hope both Wizard and Go-busters increase in popularity as time goes on. |

Either way, people only tuned in for Gobusters because Wizard was premiering. Gobusters is crap, and you cannot change crap. You can only try to sweeten it up. Gobusters is too far past the threshold to have anything redeeming in it now. The last 20 episodes could be amazing episodes, but no one will ever want to suffer through the first 30 episodes again just becaues the last 20ish are good. |

I am one of those critics of Go-Busters, but even I have to admit the quality has improved of late, so maybe Toei is doing something right. As for Wizard I believe the relative low rating is due to the bad taste audience had from Fourze so it'll take an episode or two to get the fans back in the fold. I thoroughly enjoy the first episode and I have high hopes that it'll be one of the best KR shows to come along in some time.
