And we got a freaking Land - Drill Kick Strike

I don't really know why, but I feel like the Gnome Phantom could've been more Gnome-Like if he had a garden rake instead of that trident-esque weapon...

Enjoyed the episode, but I'm still not 100% feeling this show. I don't like the supporting cast as much as I do in Fourze and OOO. I'd like to see them do more now that they're established. Daimon used her police detective skills in this one, but in the most perfunctory and boring possible way. Plot-wise they could just as well have looked Manami up in the phonebook.

Loved the creativity in the fight with Gnome at the end, especially how Haruto used the Smell Ring against my expectations. The ending with Manami also worked well for me as she doesn't get the house right away (nor does she deserve to) but it's in good hands and one day she will hopefully have it. Next week looks to be good, can't wait to see Master Phoenix in action!

I'm glad he's back to using the awesome finishers again. The finishers involving the Swordgun are just boring.

Anyway, it was an okay episode. Things wrapped up nicely and everyone was happy. Next week's episode should be good. I'm glad Phoenix didn't spend a good chunk of the series on the sidelines like so many Dragons are wont to do.

Gotta say, this episode didn't do much for me. Maybe it's because when I saw Manami look at that picture, I thought her problem had something to do with child custody(I don't think of inanimate objects when I hear/read "I'll get you back"), and thus, I was disappointed and confused to see that it was just about a house.
That said, Land Style's kick strike was pretty cool. Hope to see Water's eventually.

I think Japan's to far removed from the culture on this one. I've never seen a lawn gnomes in Japan. They probably don't have the Travelocity Gnome either. Something was just lost in translation and it turned out pretty bad. I doubt anyone in Japan even noticed.


It was an okay episode. Nothing stand out, just enjoyable.

I honestly thought he was some kind of fish-themed Phantom when I first saw him…

Also reminds me of the Dark Magician a little

...I thought he was mole themed (Even before he did all the digging/drilling stuff.)

2 things about this episode stuck with me.

1. Haruto used the smell ring in front of the donut vendor guy so does that mean donut guy knows Haruto is Wizard?

2. Did he get the ring back after he rider kicked the phantom?

Haruto never tried to conceal his identity anyway. And he will probably never use that ring again .

1. Don't think the vender guy or Haruto cared, honestly.
2. Nope, but I bet he still has the ring because toy.

When has secret identities ever been an issue in Rider? :p

Haruto never bothered with a secret identity.
Besides, every gate has watched him transform anyway.

Kuuga and Agito come to mind. They where major plot points from time to time. Of course, these heroes weren't trying to keep it a secret either. It just was.

So hey, this wasn't too bad! Wizard beats the Gnome/Croissant/Thing with an advanced for of "he who smelt it, dealt it" and the con artist girl isn't a bad sort, she was just a victim of the mortgage crisis.

Seems like things are stepping up in terms of plot, what with the new stone and the battle with Phoenix promised for next week.

In Ryuki, Kabuto and Den-O it was an issue at some point or another, but more often than not it doesn't matter.

Not a bad episode. I really liked the end fight but thought the woman's back story was a little on the weak side. I know it goes against the show's hope/despair thing, but sometimes I wish people could just be con-men without having some sob story behind it.

Yeah the backstory was pretty boring but the fights were good as usual. Though I did find myself taking a break in the middle of this episode. I got kind of bored for some reason.

I think Wizard might get repetitive if it doesn't do something fast. The problem is that the Phantoms don't offer any chance for redemption, so all them are inherently evil.
I'm hoping Phoenix will spice things up.

Agreed, it won't take much before this show goes to bland town. THe villains are iredeemable and don't succeed in any of their plans. Gotta see the bad guys get a one up at least once to keep things interesting.

It also seems that the only ones who will ever enter that Despair state (Where they start cracking and flowing with Dark Energon) will become a companion, so they're holding off on doing that very often. So I'm kind of afraid the WizarDragon will go the way of the Buron Booster from Kiva.

The rings are doing what I was afraid of (Becoming gimmicky), the Phantoms are bland (Even Phoenix, because the only emotion he seems to ever express is anger), the characters are dull (When the only characters to interest you are Wajime and Shunpei, there's a problem. Haruto's laid back attitude is fine, but he often seems too disinterested in his own show, Koyumi is a mean spirited hypocrite with an obvious crush who should just stamp "I'm going to die in episode 47" on her forehead, and Rinko is just dull. A pretty face could only get her so far.), the belt is noisy ("Shabadoobie Touch To Henshin Shabadoobie Touch To Henshin Shabadoobie Touch To Henshin! FIRE PA-LEASE! HI HI HIHIHI!"), and the Phantom's gate plot is just going to get more repetitive than Fourze's Zodiarts.

To me, all Wizard has going for it is great monster designs and flashy fights (When Wizard ISN'T trying to mimic Kabuto, that is).

I think you've pretty much accurately summed up why I'm beginning to lose interest in Wizard. I'll keep watching of course, but I wasn't quite expecting to look forward to Go-Busters more every week than it :lol

And I think you have both completely summed up how I feel. Aside from the monster designs, which I feel are terribly generic.

I don't find them too generic. But that'll happen when you've only seen three other rider shows. :lol

I think the reason we haven't seen any more Underwold sequences is because they're CGI heavy and that could hurt the budget.

As for Phoenix, I just had an idea. What if he was like an actual Phoenix and just gets reborn from his ashes every time he dies, but comes back with a new personality? I think that could be interesting.
