For a guy who loves Kamen Rider, I just realized that I'm always entering the Sentai contests :lol

Anyway, Kurojishi Rio. A villain who is more than just "I'm evil because I'm evil. Time to take over the world." is already a good reason to love him. He goes above and beyond though, having character arcs, character growth, a backstory that ties him in with so many other characters, and by having a damn cool costume.

In that case! Tommy, after he comes back as White Ranger. It was the first time I watched the series and thought "Yea, I wish I was him". And especially in Dino Thunder, I loved Doctor Oliver in Dino Thunder. He didn't do much, but when he did do something? It was epic. Or no... Tsukasa. Destroyer of Worlds, Master of the Strange Haircut, and Victim of the Laugh Technique. He takes alot of crap. But after Taisen I can always say "Yea, but he didn't pull a DiEnd". Kamen Ride... Decade!

For Sentai, I'm rather torn. I'd wanna pick a red senshi, but I also wanna say Enter. You'd think a character like that would be silly, but they manage to find the right balance with him, that and I love his ability to just rock any sort of costume and outfit they give him.

I can't ban OOO. He keeps me swimming in new sigs :lol

But, mine is a main Rider

My favorite....oh man...with Sentai it has to be Black Condor...for was always true to himself. Plus he fought dirty and that is just awesome. For Kamen Rider, I give it to Shotaro. He made the Rider back to being a super hero....plus was effective even when not transformed.

Gotta go with Don Dogoier. Power of green combined with silliness. I know I just won the big contest, but more free stuff can't hurt, lol. And since I won the Kamen Rider prize, I'll go for Sentai this time.

Y'know, I'm going to love it when I find you complaining about KyoryuBlue as the series progresses... I can almost taste your tears.

The problem with having seen so many different Rider shows and liking all of them is that it's really, really hard for me to pick just one favorite Rider character. Yusuke, Kotaro, Hibiki, Shotaro, Ankh, Date, Shiro, Keisuke... I really can't narrow it down.

Thankfully, I haven't seen nearly as much Sentai and it's pretty easy for me to highlight my favorite Sentai character: Umeko from Dekaranger. Umeko is, on paper, a character I should absolutely hate. She's the cute, tiny, hyperactive, childish girl that pops up in a lot of tokusatsu, anime, and Final Fantasies. Now if you've heard me talk about Akiko from W you'll know that I really hate these kinds of characters. But Umeko is an exception. While she does exhibit a lot of those immature genki girl traits, that's not the sole point of her character - she can also be very serious, brave, angry, hurt, kind, and all kinds of other emotions. A lot of the other examples of this character type don't have that range. It also helps that even when Umeko is being silly, it still feels natural for the character and not forced - it's just Umeko being Umeko. A lot of the credit probably just goes to how awesome Mika Kikuchi is.

Every time she was on screen she stole the spotlight, every time it's her focus episode it's one of my favorites, and she even managed to make the giant alien baby episode really fun. My favorite Umeko episode is the one where she tries to emulate Jasmine, complete with the narrator getting in on the gag. "Umeko is not an ESPer." :lol

If that happens I'll be the first to admit it.I know when a loss is a loss,till then....Mohawk.

Kenzaki Kazuma from Kamen Rider Blade. Getting to see him grow both physically and mentally is really the highlight of the entire series. He starts out as a rookie who couldn't even defeat an Undead without collapsing after the battle, but by the end he's become much stronger, both as a Rider and as a Person. Because of this and what happens at the end of the Series, he has become my favorite character from both Sentai and Rider, period.

Love Kenzaki.

Hino Eiji, because he was a great guy who would help others no matter the situation. He even helped Ankh, one of the bad guys, and was actively trying to help Hina's brother while still keeping Ankh.

He's also OOO, one of the best riders. :)

1. Each person will put down their favorite character for Super Sentai or Kamen Rider and why. They will only be entered for ONE character, so it has to be from one franchise or the other.
2. The winners of the Tokunation Giveaway hosted by Den-O are ineligible, as we want to give a chance to those who weren't so lucky.
3. The prizes for this contest are provided by coturos (Kamen Rider Side) and me (Super Sentai Side.) Main reason for this contest ending at the end of the month is to allow the prizes to grow ;). Remember, we are both unemployed but wanna give back to the community :thumb:

Favorite character from either series? Oh, this is a tough one, but I'm going to go with RyuuRanger from DaiRanger. Normally I am completely in love with villains in every Sentai series. In fact, even though I absolutely love Jin, and he is my favorite villain in DaiRanger, RyuuRanger is my favorite hero in the entire Sentai world. Also, since DaiRanger is my favorite Toku series of all time, it makes sense to go with him over Kamen Rider Black (my favorite rider).

Why is he my favorite? First off, his costume is just incredible, especially his helmet. Secondly, RyuuSeiOh is his mecha, and the effects Toei used in his dragon mode are just stunning, even today. Third, he went through so much hell. It did not matter if it was having to battle his own father, attaching springs to his body to beat Jin, or even having an un-transformed battle with Shadam, this dude rocked. Plus he wants to make the world's best Gyoza, and I absolutely love Gyoza. I could eat an entire meal of just Gyoza and still desire more, so the better it tastes, the happier I am.
