The Best of the Worst and the Worst of the Best Suit Designs.
 

It's become clear that this forum can't stay positive long. As soon as we started talking about the best suits, someone had to talk about the worst. However, almost everyone agrees that Miss America is the worst suit design ever. That makes a Worst suit design lust kind of boring. However, the suit designs do not always reflect the quality of the show. Sometimes, the show is great, but the suits are ugly or sometime the show is garbage, but the suits are awesome.

So, instead "what's the worst" we are going to do two lists. Let's say top 5.

1) The Best Suit Designs of of the Worst Shows. What suits are awesome even though the show is crap.

2) The Worst Suit Designs of of the Best Shows.. What suits are awful even though the show is great.

Remember, this is personal opinion. There is no right or wrong here. Have at it.

Can we include PR for substitutes of Sentai we haven't seen? Because if so, then

1) Best Suit of the Worst Show: Alien Rangers. The moment I saw those suits as a kid I was in love. Sleek, simply, stylish, ninja. And then the mini-series began. It wasn't terrible by MMPR standards, and I probably enjoyed it when younger, but just like watching MMPR today, not even nostalgia glasses and having fun with the cheesiness can save it.

2) Worst Suit Design of the Best Show: Goseiger. Now, this one took a little thought, because the Geki suits grew on me when I realized what they were going for and I love them, while others are just either "Meh" suits or "Meh" shows. I do not like the Gosei suits. The white pants and gloves, the lack of flow, the large torso emblem, the molded in mouths (I prefer solid mouth pieces), etc. Just too much, while the show itself is pretty fun, the suits for the main team just aren't very good.

Worst of the best...hmm.Personally,I'd have to say In Space.I just didnt like that they needed the colors of the team on their chest when something else could've been incorporated there.Just makes me feel like the designers were saying "Hey,just in case you forgot,these are the team colors even though they are all wearing them" That and I never quite understood why a computer would show up in the top of their helmet.Does that mean they just got an idea,or were they thinking? And why a computer?(I know its a scifi themed series,but its more space oriented,so why not a shuttle,or the megazord in ship form?)

Overall it was a tough choice,mostly cause the good shows don't have bad suits.Guess it sort of fits the theme,worst of the best.

Best of the worst: Probably Gaoranger/Wild Force (though its not a strictly bad show, just a very dull average one). The helmet designs were great, the sash and badges broke the colours up nicely and the belt buckles were really cool. I wish they'd used the claws on gloves more though.

Props to Boukenger/Operation Overdrive too, as I really like the grill mouthpieces.

Worst of the best: A while back I'd have probably said Geki, but those suit designs have grown a lot on me and the variation in the two later member suits make up for a lot of my initial complaints.

So instead I'm going to go for Timeranger/Time Force. The suits are pretty bland, and Time Fire's is far too similar to Time Red's to be remotely interesting to me. Just as well the character was excellent really.

Sure, might as well count PR in this as long as ya make it clear which franchise it is.

Just Sentai, then? Okay, this should be easier. I could probably right a small book about this for Rider.

Best of the Worst - Definitely Wolzard. I probably need to see more of Magiranger before I totally write it off, but what I have seen so far I really don't like. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the suit designs, either. But Wolzard, man, that is a crazy awesome suit design.

Worst of the Best - Gokai Silver Gold Mode. Why? Just... just, why?

You need to see more Magiranger. Although that might just be nostalgia talking.

And as for GokaiSilver Gold Mode, it was really a copy of Decade/DiEnd's complete forms. Wish they had the faces disappear when he transformed into it though, maybe that would've saved it

It's on my list, but after two lackluster episodes and one annoying movie I'm not in any real hurry to get to it. Do they ever shut up about family?

i have to go with GoBuster i dunno why at first they were ok but they started to wore off and became really boring as if you take off the harnec jacket and and the belt and glovs and boot you could wear it as a sport gear and no real special with it thats why i find it beign the worst.

The 2 drill Vagras from Go-Busters, I also really like the Bat Spirit Ranger from Jungle Fury (I'm allowed to say that, since he never showed up in Gekiranger) gosh I feel really bad for not having any Kamen Rider stuff here...

2) The Worst Suit Designs of of the Best Shows.

For me, it's between Meteor Storm or Fourze's Cosmic States, it does suck that the two final forms are kinda ugly, I think that Meteor's suit work A LOT better with black and blue, and being asymmetrical. Another one is Accel's suit from Double. DiEnd's is kinda ugly, but it has grown on me over the years, or year rather. Same thing with Den-O Swrod Form, over the course of watching Den-O it grew on me. Maybe Barizorg from Gokaiger. Decade Complete Form is ugly too.

I assumed it was the team suit designs, not the villains.
And I assumed Sentai/PR, what with it being in the Sentai forum :lol

Basco's design isn't anything to write home about, honestly. His character is great, but his design is no better than anyone else's in the Zangyack army.

Best of the Worst- Overdrive Mercury Ranger. I love the Boukenger suits. I think Operation Overdrive is a bit under-rated, but it definitely is the worst season I've watched so far with suit designs I love. While I haven't watched Tyzonn in action just yet, I have seen his suit, and I think it is a great suit.

Worst of the Best- Ranger Series Red-Black. I will admit that the Ranger Series Gold and Silver are great suits, but Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Black are somewhat mediocre. While they have grown on me, they're my least favorite suits.

Best of the Worst- i have to say for me the Worst would be operation overdrive, due the fact the light on the helmet main reminds me of Turbo and well and the MMPR the movie yellow ranger Power light Beams. that why i like them.

Worst of the Best- Worst Power Rangers Suit Design i have to say it are the MMPR Suits after 2 season even as a kid it got worn out and got really boring. then i have to say that i did not Like Turbo Suits dunno but i Like Turbo as a show due to it was one i enjoyed the most and now MMPR well its a good show when you look back and the suits were good for there time and it started things off but now i can say it i dont like the Suits of Zyuranger.

I think we can all guess that my Best of the Worst is going to be Lightspeed Rescue.
As for Worst of the Best, I can't really say, suit designs grow on me pretty easily. I guess Boukenger. The designs have always looked really bland, and there's something about the helmet that really annoys me. I'd definitely say Carranger if I liked the actual show more.

I don't really like the Goseiger suits a whole lot. The almost completely white bottoms kind of doesn't work for me personally.

I loved the suits from Bouken/Operation Overdrive despite the series being completely unwatchable. The white stripe down the center, the detailing in the helmet, the nice big symbol on the chest. Mercury Ranger especially.


Are you all done collecting screaming Blasphemy? Good, good. These suits comitted the worst sin possible. One commited by Kakuranger, OhRanger/Zeo, and Lightspeed Rescue/GoGoV. They were bland. They had absolutely no personality. Aside from the molded helmets they were just solid color and daimonds! Least Zeo had some gold thrown in.

Best of the Worst- SPD

From what little I saw of Dekaranger I just adored the suits. Having one black sleeve connect with the number each was assigned was just too cool and overall those very same suits were one of the few parts of Power Rangers SPD I liked.

Worst of the Best- Dino Thunder

DT is a series I'll hold near and dear to my heart, but the suits look too much like the MMPR/Zyuranger ones. They kinda look too bland for my tastes too.

True. Kakuranger had a reason to be bland The bland look fit the ninja and stealth theme very well. So while they aren't the best looking, they are justified.

Which is why they didn't make the top of my list, like Zyuranger. They atleast had an excuse. But you see, they didn't really have an excuse. Look at Ninja Storm/Hurricaranger. They were Ninja and they had beautifully detailed suits.

The Kakurangers don't need flashy costumes, they already have the coolest looking mech and one of the best theme songs. The other shows need some aspects to rival them.

I preferred Kaku's more simplistic design to Hurricane's active and more detailed design.
Detailing is good, but only when it's needed.

Definitely. Hurricanger's suits are overdetailed if anything. Kaku's suit the the theme far better.

Best of the Worst? I haven't watched enough Super Sentai to genuinely hate any of them, but I heard Zyuranger isn't really that good a series yet their suit designs are among my favorites ever.

Worst of the Best? Pretty hard, I generally like suit designs. I'm guessing Gingaman was a decent series, but I not a big fan of their suits. There's also Denjiman, who seemed really popular back then, but it's one of those suits that I just don't like the look of.

If we're including Kamen Rider, then I can definitely say, for a series I've watched from beginning to end, that Accel would be here. Don't like the suit design, but he turned out to be a great character in an awesome show.

I want Kakuranger to be subbed badly too. It seems very charming and I want to watch it.

Same here. It looks so good from the still images I've seen.
