Kyoryuger Plot Revealed - At least 10 Individual Mecha Confirmed!
 

Thanks to the ever helpful dukemon22 we've just gotten a full synopsis for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger! According to the official Toei webpage and dukemons' translations:

-In Ancient Times, the Ankokushuu Deibos (Darkness Species Deibos) landed on Earth. Those who fought against it at the time were the actual Dinosaurs! The Kyoryugers' mentor (Wise God Torin) chose 10 of these dinosaur protectors and crafted mechanical bodies to preserve them in. This confirms that Kyoryuger will features at least 10 individual dino mecha,and only 6 have been revealed so far!

-These mechanical dinosaurs are known as the Zyudenryu! Deibos was defeated by the Zyudenryu and cast into the ocean, frozen in ice.

-In the present, the Deibos are trying to revive the being they were created from, Master Deibos. Their plan involves taking the souls of humans, and offering them up to Deibos.

-To stop the Deibos, Torin selects 5 modern humans as champions. They will be known as Kyou (strong) ryu (dino/dragon) Sha(person), the Kyouryuger! These chosen warriors are pitted against the dinosaur mecha Torin created, the Zyudenryu. If they win their battles they are bonded with their Zyudenryu and become Kyoryugers!

Please tell me KyoryuBlue is giving the one enemy a back body drop.I knew I liked him for a reason.lol. Also in the first pic,does it show that ShinkenRed,ShinkenBlue,Akarenger and Aorenger will be in the show too? Also nice to see how the buckle finally works.

Didn't we already know that there's going to be at least 23 individual Jyudenryu?

The plot is typical Super Sentai. Sounds like a cross between GoaRanger and Aberanger.

Now the idea that there are 10 dinos total is a little surprising. I hope that there is another core robot (like Gabutyra) because if there isn't that's going to be a whole lot of dinos that just sit on my shelf and don't do anything. :(

Wait. We know the first five zords right now. If we add one more core robot that brings the total to six and the benefit of another full Zord. So of the remaining four, use three for another Megazord, then #10 would be something that can combine everything together!

I know it's just wishful thinking on my part, but wouldn't that be insane?! And awesome!

We already know the 6th Jyudenryu. It's a light blue anklyosaurus that replaces Stegochi to make Kyoryujin Western. And we already know there's going to be a lot more Jyudenryu then they've let on.

Completely missed the previous thread mentioning the 23 different Jyudenryu.

So that begs the question: how much are these things going to cost? I don't see a business sense to making 23 different toys (unless a BUNCH are repaints).

It's this thread. Technically, it's 23 of the batteries, and not the Jyudenryu. I couldn't imagine them making batteries without making the corresponding Jyudenryu though...

It'll probably be like Gaoranger, where some are re-molds.

It can be whatever you want. There's lots of different ways to spell Romanized Japanese, and none are either wrong or correct.

what's up with the shinkengers there?

Do we know how the black and green mecha, or any of the others for that matter, are going to combine? Are they just going to become different arms? That'd be kinda lame.

Green and Black replace Pink and Blue respectively to make Kyoryujin Western.

That's all the combinations we currently know.

The original rumors before the show was fully revealed said there would be 23-25 different mecha. Possibly. The plot summary confirms that their mentor constructed 10 Zyudenryu when the Deibos first invaded Earth. He could construct others over the course of the show. Or another possibility is that another god/mentor character from that time created more Zyudenryu for a 6th Kyoryuger. Something of that nature.

I think the ten batteries will be the Main Mechas.All the other batteries will prob be utilities or like the raptor bike made from two of them.

23-25 different mecha is going to be expensive as hell. And that means that Bandai is going to have to release at least 2 every month in order to get them all out in a year. I worry that this season is going to be so toy heavy that there's no room for plot or character development. Do we know who are the writers for this season are?

I think the writers were revealed, but I honestly can't remember.

Apparently Dukemon22 is circulating more rumors already, about the 6th Kyoryuger:

My hypothesis (and that of HenshinGrid where this info came from) is that Torin will be like a Dekamaster type of 6th ranger and that another proper ranger will join the team after.

i want 15 rangers and 57 mecha!!!

alternatively i'll settle for fun toys, a bit of humour and a decent range of mecha

no point getting too wrapped up in hypothesis and assumption when a new ranger is probably 3-4 months off

Oh who am I kidding, it's because Earth is there and ripe for plundering. :P

Let's see how many 'ancient evil' plots have there been: Denjiman, Google Five, Dynaman, Bioman, Tubroranger, Zyuranger, Dairanger, Kakuranger, GogoV, Gaoranger, Magiranger, Boukenger, Gekiranger, Shinkenger, and Goseiger. Gekiranger is on the outskirts of the 'ancient evil' idea since the true villain of the series is the only ancient baddy. The others are much closer to modern day.

All the other ranger series are about modern day invaders (from space or other dimensions). Hell, this series has BOTH villain tropes!

Goseiger did both to, remember. Warstar, Yuumanjuu, whatever you count Metal Alice has.

As long as the 10 (or more) mecha combine into some ungodly super combo then I'll be happy. I always prefer the big combos that don't leave a lot out. It saves on shelf space and personally I think it looks freaking awesome.

I'm thinking it'll be less G-12 and more Gaoranger/Abaranger.

I forgot about Goseiger doing both. For some reason I can't remember much about Goseiger.

I could use a Dekamaster-type character, they seem to have amazing designs, if Wolzard is another indication.

If that's the case then I'm not buying. I don't want 10 mechs that will have 2 completed mecha and like, 4 auxiliary mechs that are just lying around because they have nowhere else to go...

I have a feeling based on what I've seen so far, that it's gonna be more of a Go-Onger system. A lot of arm swapping, but independent combinations that can all conglomerate together into one big monster.

Okay then another gold ranger then personally i'm getting kind of sick of gold and/or silver rangers but hey that's what toei wants to do go right a head.

That was hardly the case with Abaranger. All of the Bakuryu from Abaranger combined into a robot so that there were no stray pieces(First three as Abareno, the Styracosaurus and the 4 auxiliary as Maxryuo, Top Galer and Stegosaurus as Killer Oh, those two movie exclusives formed their own frozen Abareno, and Brontosaurus never combined with anything).

As for Gaoranger... You've got me there.

Torin should be Kyoryu Orange. :D

Haha totally that or maybe even white would be good with me.

However all of these robots combine, it's going to be a lot of merchandise out there for Bandai to sell. Seems like this show was designed specifically to move merchandise, between the theme and the number of robots. Not that I am complaining; that's a perfectly valid rationale for a super sentai show in my book.
