For me, there are 3 franchises I always come back to: Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, and Transformers. So here's a thread to cover all things Ninja Turtles. A place to talk about the cartoons, toys, comics, video games, movies, even Next Mutation (though that that probably belongs in the American Toku section).


To get the ball rolling, MTVGeek's twitter just revealed the next two Classics figures.

Yes, those are the first new Bebop and Rocksteady figures since 1996.

I keep seeing the classic Turtles and thinking I should buy them. This pretty much seals the deal.

I assume the case will be 4 Characters like the Turtles. I wonder what the other two are. Personally, I'd like it to be a full villain case with Shredder and Krang.

Not necessarily, additional waves normally don't have as many new figures. I expect the case of 12 to be 2 of each Turtle plus 2 of Bebop and Rocksteady. Remember, the first wave was online and TRU only. Playmates probably wants to keep the Turtles in the case just in case Walmart, Target, etc start carrying it in stores.

That said, there could be two more figures in the wave, I'm just keeping that in mind and not getting my hopes up.

Did they ever fix the derpy eyes problem that was plaguing the Turtles figures?

That might be another reason why they might put the Turtles in the assortment with Bebop and Rocksteady.

That makes sense too. Although I do want 2 other new figures, I'd be completely okay if we only got Bebop and Rocksteady. Because I'm trying to spend less money and 2013 is already very expensive.

So, the newest episode aired tonight. Karai makes her first appearence and...well let's just say her hair confuses me. Also, Snakeweed's back. It's a good episode centered around Leo not wanting to be leader and Raph getting in over his head.

Just caught my first TMNT episode in wait for Megaforce.
Neat. A Shredder that is a threat while also not being a space squid.

I swear, while I can understand the love for campy fun, I could never call myself a Turtles fan because of the original 80's series. While I liked the 03 series well enough, I didn't follow it faithfully.

I loved the 03 series and followed it to the best of my ability. It had the grit and character of the Mirage comics, a touch of the 1987's humor and little bits and pieces all its own. It was the best damn thing 4Kids made and will ever be the peanut in the turd for them.

I can see why the 2012 series gets its mad props from, but for some reason I just can't connect with these new Turtles for some reason.

April O Neil will now be played by... Megan Fox.

So, if Megan Fox DOES get the role, April in the Movie will essentially be Mikaela Banes cosplaying as The Bride from "Kill Bill?"

This movie. It already feels like it's gonna hurt.

....I fucking hate Micheal Bay so much right now. He mucked up Transformers and now he's about to do the same to a series I love.

I'm sorry, but Mike Bay just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The only reason he's still getting work is because people really are getting that dumb, if Harlem Shake is any indicator.

'sigh' At least I still have a awesome KR Fourze fanfic to read. Stupid Bay can kiss any money I would have given him goodbye.

You know, if you like fan fiction, I hear that there's a pretty good one that follows an original Rider by the name of Kamen Rider Xtreme. The first two episodes are up in the fanfiction forum, you should check it out when you get the time. :D

Honestly, I think she'll play Karai. It won't be a skimpy top, but it'll be tight spandex.

Yes on Karai being in the movie, no on her being played by Megan Fox.

Edit: But Karai is too good for Bay anyway so I guess no to both.

Bay is one to just throw in as many characters as he can so someone can be like "Oh, my favorite character showed up for a fraction of a second!"
And this time around, he's not limited to the extremely expensive CGI models for the characters.

I remember rumors of the Turtles being CGI in this. I wouldn't put it pass Bay either.

To be honest, after the 90's movies, I would much prefer CG turtles (Either CG in a live action world or an entirely CG movie) to animatronic suits...

The first movie's animatronic suits were glorious and could only be done better today. The other animatronic suits were pretty bad though. Now Splinter could use some CGI and I'm fine with CGI for stunts that animatronic suits just can't do.

Not like it matters. This movies already gonna crap anyways.

It's been a while since I've seen the first movie, so I can't really say.

But miracles happen. The movie could be awesome...Maybe.
