"Missing the bus" When you joined just too late.
I'm sure there's plenty more like this. When you get into a Kamen Rider show, one that's long since past and all wrapped up, and you suddenly find yourself longing for the toys and figures even though they're hard as hell to find because they're all discontinued and nobody wants to sell theirs. :lol
Who else has that, and with which series? Me, it's W and Gaia Memories. I would love to collect those, in fact I found out they released these giant boxes filled with them. (one for Dopants, one with T2 memories) If only I had got into the series when it was out, that would've been mine instantly, and wouldn't you know it, I can't find any of them anywhere. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. |
Ouch. You just missed YokattaWeb's preorder for the HK reissues of both Complete Selections. Sorry about that.
Personally, I get random cravings to pick up Roleplay items every year, but I know I can't afford them. It's a constant cycle of pain there, but it's better than spending a bunch of money I don't have on things I don't need. I'd say I'm kinda miffed that I missed cheap SH Figuarts Kabuto riders. I love those designs, and to have a full set would be great, but for the prices they go for now, I'm not going to bother outside of the Kabuto reissue and maybe Gattack. |

Fugfishifucgodshifu- Is there anyplace else that will have these rereleases? |

The Super Best reissue of the Double Driver is also on Mandarake. |

That Driver though... EDIT: Wait, could it be? |
Yeah. I'd get it if it was like 7,000 yen or something like that.
Good thing the Super Best Double Driver is relatively cheap, because I'm gonna break down and buy that at some point. :lol |

I know this feeling all too well. After having finished Blade last last year, I found myself longing for the cards and belts. Shame Blade aired in, like, '04 or something...
|
I hate all of the exclusive Figuarts I've missed, particularly during the Double days.
And much like Brainchild, the cheap Kabuto figures. That's one of the few shows I want every Figuart from (largely because they're all of different characters), but only have one so far. I also have cravings for roleplay toys. But just keep reminding myself that that's an area of collecting I know I shouldn't get into. |
I'm one of those people who will see some cool stuff coming up that I want to own, but can never get the money together to purchase the item/s.
|
Far too often things just look cool long after their debut, which gets frustrating. There needs to be a good secondary market for these toys that don't charge through the roof!
|
Ya man. Like, $150 for a case of memories is... still something I'm considering. But yeah I'd love for there to just be a "old cool shit" store.
But we aren't fairies in a fairytale. :( |
My ooo stuff..... It wasn't even the medals, it was the driver that made me cringe :/

Dang, you just reminded me I still need to find can droids :lol
|
I got all I want from OOO. The Driver, the TaJaSpinner, and all 6 Medal sets.
"What about BuraKuWani and the Black cores?" Didn't appear in the show, so I don't need 'em. |
Not necessarily with Kamen Rider, though to be fair I want a good number of Figuarts I missed as I only got into the hobby within the last few months or so, but Mugenbine is one line I wished I was collecting when it was possible to get most of the original run. Now it's rare to find more than the same few on eBay.
|
With Mugenbine I got it lucky, grabbing 18 of the Alphabet series off Yahoo Japan for $100 (Including my favorite two, Junk Stag and Iron Beetle).
But it is another line I wish I got into earlier, too, because the few that I didn't get in the haul, I can't seem to find anywhere else. |
I came late into Mugenbine. I found some of the videos Vachidra posted on the youtubes, and loved what I saw. Then I looked on ebay and cried.

I was exposed to Mugenbine in much the same way I was Kamen Rider, frickin' reviewers from TFW hahaha.
I only own a few. I got some candy toys from a little Japanese market, not realizing until I gave the packaging a good lookover that they were those Mugenbine things I had seen before that I thought were so cool. Ended up grabbing Air Leon and Heat Tricera off of eBay. Then I got Carry Eagle and Xenonbine from someone on TFW that was selling theirs. Sadly that's all I have :[ |

Goddammit. :(

There's some all over Yahoo! Japan Auctions for the same price.

I mean best bet is to use Yahoo Japan, but that solves one issue (availability) by introducting or exacerbating another (price). Seems similar for some Rider stuff from what I've seen as well. |
I pretty much just use Ebay and Amazon. If those don't work, I just use good old Google.
I really hate seeing the prices on some of the morphers. |

Japamart FTW. It's how I managed to get slightly used, but an entire lot of the Goseiger mecha (save for missing parts on Ultimate, but I care not about that) and a bonus Leon Cellular for 230 USD shipped from Japan, EMS.
I basically paid 60-70 bucks for a barely used Gosei Great, Gosei Grand, Datas, Ultimate (missing arms and golden headers, swords, didn't care about that) and new in box Skyick, Seaick, Landick, Gosei Wonder and Mystic Brother/Runner. Plus, the bonus Leon Cellular that I didn't know about. It came with no cards, but I don't need 'em. GOTCHA! |

You could give it a try, making liberal use of Google Translate, though I am unsure if you need a middleman for Yahoo Japan Auctions or not... |
It's not based on Yahoo Japan specifically, but the sellers/auctioners. Most will not do business with anyone out of country.
|
The thing is, it's not even a sure thing I could get one for a good price, or with reasonable shipping if they did. I could also get slammed with import fees and the like. All that considered I'll just save my pennies and grab one off of ebay in the future.
|
Well, I'll admit, shipping was pretty high for the stuff I mentioned previously, but it was a huge box. Also, Japamart allows you to wait until your stuff arrives and then ship it off in one box.
I've had great luck with them so far. |
Yeah, I think I'll just stick to sites I trust.

Well, gotta start somewhere. :D
|
Sometimes branching out is good for you.
|
It is. But for importing stuff, I can be a bit of a hard rock to move. Once I find my site, I tend to stick with it.
